Some beautifully bred 3yos on show in the Newbury Maidens tomorrow, including a once raced Galileo half-brother to George Washington and Grandera (SUN CENTRAL) and an unraced son of Cape Verdi (NABUCCO)

14.15 Newmarket- Noble Mission-9/4

Brother to the brilliant Frankel. He beat a 14 man field at newbury over 1m. Has got the hood on again and more progress was made to land a listed race over C&D when it looked like the goldophin horse- Mariners Cross would make all and got first run on him, but was an impressive win- currently 33/1 with some firms for the derby but when he bolts up tomorrow, that will disappear and I can see him going off 2nd /3rd favourite come June.

15.40- Newbury - Frankel

Im not sure if you are aware there is some horse called Frankel racing tomorrow- he is a very quick horse who is currently unbeaten, and I think he may stay unbeaten come 15.45 tomorrow. It maybe a bit of a risk punting on him tomorrow but GL to those who do:grin::grin:

14.30 Newbury- Bertiewhittle - 7/1

One from my tracker- Thrived in the 2011 season winning 3 times up to 7F- I can excuse his last run when he looked abit rusty plus he had severe traffic problems which ended all chance he had in a competitive handicap won by Maarek at Newmarket last time and he is fancied to set the record straight today.

14.55 Thirsk- Marine Commando- 16/1 e/w

Another one from the tracker- His whole race depends upon the 1st few split seconds. He's not badly drawn but needs to jump out the stalls, if he doesnt then his race will be over, according to connections he's got into the bad habit of missing the kick and not getting into the race. He is a Royal Ascot winner 2 years back and won 5f last year, so he knows how to win. If he can get the start he needs then the minor honours should be the minimum he will get

Apologies in advance Woolley but I have 2 of yours on MY radar too - Noble Mission and Bertiewhittle.

If it's any consolation I only had one bet today - Easy Terms at 14's so I'm hopeful that I'm on a roll <laugh>

Evening all - just a tad worried about the mighty Frankel tomorrow - for four reasons and not his injury.

1) Tom Queally - couldn't judge a race if his life depended on it !!!
2) Fiddler Aiden "he'll run a good race and he is a nice horse" O'Brien is the type to spoil the party on behalf of Coolmore who I despise.
3) The pacemakers could mess the race up - look at what Windsor Palace done to St Nich Abbey last week - again Fiddler O'Brien !!!
4) The Cecil stable isn't in great form - 1 winner in two weeks although not too many runners.

Dayo my opinion on the four.

1 Harsh
2 If Excelebration improves to beat Frankel fair play
3 No chance - Bullet Train and Windsor Palace in the race will make it very good- both the main horses will love the strong pace
4 Slight doubt

If he loses there shouldn't be any excuses. I have no doubt he will make it 10/10 though

I think Frankel faces his toughest test tomorrow. Excelebration may improve for switching yards and if he does it's not a great deal to mak up.

I personally can't get the vision of Frankel tying up in the St James Palace out of my head and expect Frankel to lose when stepping up in trip later this year.

RV - I just am never totally happy when Queally is on a Cecil horse - same as Eddie Ahern - considering Sir Henry is a legend I find it a bit puzzling why he seems to perservere with "average" jockeys ??? And I am always concerned when the fiddler O'Brien runs any horse (or normally 5/6 if the friggin derby or a group 1 !!) in the Uk !!! Fingers crossed - maybe me being a bit pessimistic - but its not the end of the world if he loses I suppose - always more races later on in the year.

110% agree with all your answers there RV. Likewise I cant see him losing- The money has been coming in for him all week he is now 1/3 with most firms

2 things I would like to add to the last two points-

Nearly every race frankel has run has been with Bullet Train- he goes on the gallops with him, in the field and just works with him pretty much every day. The Cecil yard has BT run the race everytime to suit Frankel - fast gallop. If you see he goes 100% from the stalls, then a couple of furlongs out he just blows out of steam and then thats when Frankel takes over and blows everyone out of the water coz they are run raggerd from the pacemaker.

Whether a stable is in form or not does not matter to truly class, great horses. Look at Big Bucks- Paul Nicholls couldnt get a winner out for weeks then look at the Cleeve hurdle (I think it was) Bang! he won easily. So to horses like Frankel, Big Bucks etc... whether a stable is in form it doesnt matter because class and pure ability overcomes form every day of the week!

£2k for just turning up! not bad- although I think Bullet Train deserves a bit more prize money than £2k would like to see him in the top 4! But as I said above- he runs his race for the first 5/6 furlongs! So come the final 2/3 he just has no energy to compete! lol bless him

This horse really really deserves to win a race this year, and a big one at that. Ultra consistent the majority of the time, Mike Muphy's 5 year old is winless since November 2010 and he really has a hard time winning! However, I really think and hope that today is the day he breaks that duck. His handicap mark has ranged from 91 to 94 since December 2010 which really emphasises he rarely runs a bad race, and he has some extremely strong form in his book. Previously with Sir Mark Prescott, Lutine Bell marked his debut for current connections with an authoritative win at Wolves over 7f by 6L, which was in fact his latest success. After a 4 month break, on his 3rd start for the yard off a mark of 92 he ran out an excellent 1.56L 4th over 6f behind the excellent Horseradish, who subsequently ran a very credibly 1L behind Hoof It off a 4lb mark before being sold to Hong Kong. Furthermore Waffle, who finished only 0.75L ahead of tomorrows selection, subsequently ran an excellent 2nd to Deacon Blues at Royal Ascot, only narrowly failing by a neck as the line came too soon. This was at the time where Waffle was in his peak last year. Moreover, Our Jonathan finished in 3rd off a mark of 93 and he is now rated 114.

On 21 May last year, after a disappointing run at Ascot, Lutine Bell ran a good race to finish 1L 4th behind Crown Choice. This was another good run, emphasising the normally excellent standard that Lutine Bell runs to. After this, Lutine Bell was quite luckless from start to finish when finishing 3.31L behind the progressive Dungannon, a horse he finished 0.75L in front of on May 21 with only a 1lb swing in the weights. According to the trainer, “the starter hesitated for a split second before opening the stalls which resulted in Martyn taking the hood off the horse a fraction early. The horse hit the gate and bounced back onto his hocks just as the gate opened” and after meeting traffic, he could not get into contention. Murphy futher cited “We were both thrilled with his run but disappointed as with a clear run he would have won.”

In July, off a mark of 91 Lutine Bell ran an excellent race to finish 0.75L 2nd to Piazzo San Pietro. Lutine Bell missed the kick a bit that day and still did a very good job to finish 2nd. The form of that race is once again rock solid with numerous winners in behind off higher marks. On his next start Lutine Bell again found one too good. After travelled ominously well throughout and for the most part he cut his way through the field from deep off a mark of 92. However, he met a small bit of traffic along the way and had to be switched. He finished an excellent 0.75L behind Noble Citizen, who has subsequently run a great race to finish 0.75L 3rd behind Bronze Prince in a big race at Ascot off a 3lb higher mark. Moreover, and very relevant to todays contest, he finished 1L in front of current favourite Macs Power and that rival only has a 1lb swing at the weights.

After a slight disappointment at Goodwood, Lutine Bell probably the best race in his career to date. With Richard Hughes booked for the first time, he ran an excellent 2nd off a mark of 94 when finishing 1.75L beaten by Sirius Prospect, who was rated 88 that day. After travelling ominously once again, he scythed through the field with consummate ease with the winner probably just getting first run on him. He was unlucky to run into such a progressive and well handicapped 3 year old, as Sirius Prospect quickly rattled off a further 3 victories in succession culminating with a success in a Listed contest. His final 3 starts were a bit disappointing but he had 8 starts in the space of 4 months prior to that so I'm willing to forgive him those efforts.

Lutine Bell arrives here on the back of a 7 month break and I really think this will have freshened him up very well and revitalised him. He hasn't had many breaks in his career, but when with Sir Mark Prescott he ran an excellent 3L 3rd on the back of a 10 month break where he missed the break and finished better than anything. For current connections his run behind Horseradish was after 4 months so its clear to me he goes well fresh. Richard Hughes is again booked for todays race and its clear to me that connections mean business. He has a tendency to miss the break most starts but it isn't a huge concern considering he likes to sit at the back of the field. He's equally adept over 6f/7f with probably a slight preference for the latter, but todays 6f trip should be absolutely fine. Mike Murphy has his small string in absolutely fantastic order at the minute which is good news for Lutine Bells chances. Off a mark of 92, his form shows that he's more than capable of winning off this mark and if replicating most of his efforts he should prove too good. If discounting his last 3 runs, Lutine Bell finished 1.75L or less in 5 of his first 8 runs finishing 2nd no less than 3 times. This horse deserves a win so much and I don't even care about winning money off him today I just want to see him win so badly. I really hope today is his day and it signifies the start of what will be an excellent season.

With two long priced winners in the last two days The Queen is on a bit of a roll. Both those winners were fillies, and Momentary must have given her much pleasure being 3/4 bred by her as the sire Nayef is out of her racefilly Height of Fashion and the dam Fleeting memory is a Danehill daughter of her Oaks 2nd Flight of Fancy, and a grandaughter of her good racemare Phantom Gold (by the way Momentary may have been 33-1 but if you have been reading Bell's website she's been strongly mentioned since March (but also by the way so has Set to Music!!)).
Today she has two colts who could deliver. The first up is Galleon 1.30 Newbury, a Galileo son of Phantom Gold who ran once as a 2yo without distinguishing himself. Pat Dobbs is on board today and he has already ridden a winner for Stoute/The Queen this season so I don't think that's any negative about him riding. It's probably a tough maiden as many at Newbury are, but if the price is right an EW interest may be the bet. Later on the card in the second division of the maiden The Queen's Border Legend 4.50 Newbury has his second outing of his career. Backed into favouritism on his debut a month ago he made a pleasing start to that career being a running on 3rd. Charlton says he'll get stronger and stronger as he grows into his frame but I think this gelding could go into today.
And there's Frankel....
Paul Hanagan has a full card of rides at Newmarket and they all look to be backable types, with a 21 x Win doubles being a sporting bet. But if you're looking for a likely patent then:-
