Morning attivo. I never saw Nijinsky in real life but still vividly recall watching him on TV at friends in Bristol when he won the 1970 St Leger to achieve the Triple Crown. The only colt to win the Triple Crown since Bahram in 1935. May never happen again. Camelot being the closest when finishing second in the final leg.

Mate at work said he had been given some tips for today and would let me know them. He got talking to someone else but passed me his phone. Looking through the text it would appear that he is a subscriber to some tipping firm paying a monthly fee. Anyhow he has been given:

    3.00 Newb MASTER CARPENTER E/W*
    3.15 Newm GRAND INQUISITOR*
    3.35 Newb TIN MAN*
    3.50 Newm MISS MARJORIE E/W*
    4.55 Newm ARAB POET*

*Disclaimer. I'm not telling you to back these with your wheelbarrows full of loot or your pocket money, just passing on what I've been given. However should they all win or return any profit then I will take all plaudits.

    Hello Boys

James drops in to Cartmel for sticky toffee pudding to take back to Paris and hopefully have a good day.
He looks to have a few chances but tells me Donnas Pride is the one he likes best.
I'm on Balmusstte and the above EW double.....
    As always

Morning, you types. Hope everyone tickety-boo. I really hope that EVEN SONG, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, wins the Irish Oaks (5.45 Curragh). Had a nice win on her at Royal Ascot and I think the old girl has the potential to take high rank amongst the middle-distance brigade by the end of the term. However, as she is odds-on the one that I will recommend to the dear, dear regular readers is:

PRINCE OF ISLAY (6.40 Lingers Park) – This gelding is still a maiden after 10 attempts but he has hinted at ability in his last 3 runs and you would certainly conclude that on recent evidence he has what it takes to win this very weak look affair off a perch of 53. The barn of Mandy Perrett is in decent form as, at the time of writing, they have won with 3 out of their last 9 runners whilst underfoot conditions should not inconvenience Prince of Islay (please not they race on the sod this eve at Lingers Park) as arguably he ran his best ever race on ‘good to firm’ when runner-up at Chepstow on his penultimate appearance. Finally, the old boy is a confirmed stayer so the stamina sapping distance should certainly be right up his street.

    Good luck all.

Being a resident of Berlin, I must put in a word for Moabit in the 2.45 at Market Rasen. Moabit is a borough of Berlin, just to the North of the Reichstag building and Chanceller's residency. Probably the best-known building in Moabit is the prison, and I expect Paul Nicholls' gelding to take no prisoner's in today's race, putting a smile on the faces of the mysteriously named owners - "Owners Group 014"

Having a pop at a few it Curragh today...

Going to start by keeping on side with Lightening Fast 7/4 in the opener to continue Frankels run.

Psychedelic Funk 11/8 I was a big fan of him going into Ascot, nothing has changed. He bumped into what looks to be a superstar in Caravaggio that day and could well get back in the winning enclosure today.

Downforce 13/2 showing vast improvement from 3 - 4 years old and readily won over CD here lto. Being looked after for this race and should go close under Billy Lee.

Red Stars 33/1 e/w Again another who has improved with a winter on her back and she was well in command at Roscommon when beating the well regarded Chemical Charge lto, travelling powerfully into the straight. The extra furlong and a decent pace will suit her lovely and she could cause a surprise. Seventh Heaven is also a lively outsider for Aidan. The fave could prove tough to crack but plenty of dangers in a tight knit race.

    Happy punting folks.
