I'm with you Karlos with CHINDIT, backed him the last twice. Think he wins again today. Has better times than the Fav and today the stalls are on the stands side which I think will benefit those drawn high (13). Only slight concern would be ground but I have faith.

Will be opposing Chindit. THUNDER MOON is the best 2yo won a group 1 on his second appearance despite trouble in running and is my idea of next seasons guineas winner. Agree MONDAIN for the Ces Has good tactical speed and will appreciate the ground and the long Newmarket straight fair bet at 12/1

Good morning peeps :) Today's telly picks as below

    Nmkt
    145 Lone Eagle
    220 Akmaam
    255 Chindit
335 Leoncavallo (unusual race report: prominent, smooth headway to lead 3f out, pushed along over 1f out, drew clear and laughed at his rivals) not very scientific but we get the gist!

    York
    130 Classic Lord
    200 Regional
    235 Spirit Dancer
    310 Staxton ew

Weird goings on in the Fillies Mile yesterday with AOB switching 2 horse, number cloths (well not him, but his staff) Easy to remedy in future, check the microchip before they leave the parade ring. Simples.

    Good luck all <ok>

    14:55 Newmarket - Tactical

(Just a modest e/w on this rank outsider. Cannot resist the massive 50/1 currently on offer! Should handle the soft ground, and might improve with step-up to 7f?)

    15:35 Newmarket - Diocletian

(The big Lotto race of the day with 34-runners! Trainer Andrew Balding has three in this, and selection is probably the third choice? Young claimer, William Cox, takes 3lb. off his back, which might help a little. Again small e/w - 18/1 generally available atm.)

Tactical and Wembley both look over priced to me today.
    Akmaam my best bet

I've never been convinced that the draw means much in the Ces. 2.2m with just one bend, I'm happy enough, Mal :)[/QUOTE]

Very nicely bred newcomer in division 2 of the Chepstow bumper - Famoso is by Fame and Glory out of a half-sister to Hurricane Fly. Honorary Colonel also of interest being out of a half-sister to Tetlami and of course The Bomber Liston. Nice little contest.

@stick who do you like in this mate?

    Morning all...bets today:

    Newmarket 1.45pm Fabilis 5/1 win
Chepstow 2.12pm Didtheyleaveuoutto 13/2 each way
Newmarket 3.35pm Alright Sunshine 25/1 each way 8 places. I thought he ran okay in the Ebor and was very progressive last season. Spencer is booked, long way for trainer to come..lots of boxes ticking for me with 8 places..

I cannot recall the last time that there was such a large field for the Dewhurst. Perhaps that is a reflection of the fact that there does not seem to be one stand out juvenile from one of the usual yards to scare everyone off.

Looking at the profile of this race, I wonder how many of these are going to opt for a change of tactics because sitting at the back will be a losing strategy.

Chindit won the Champagne at Doncaster but he has never encountered ground this soft (although he is by Wootton Bassett) and his hold up style of racing is a real negative. The runner-up on Town Moor Albasheer is another that may be written off as soon as the gate opens by his jockey taking a pull; and he too is unproven on soft.

Etonian has not been seen since winning the Solario in August and is another hold-up horse, whose punters might be looking at his sire (Olympic Glory) for signs that he will be okay with the soft ground.

Thunder Moon is untried on ground this soft but he laid up with the pace when winning easily on debut and overcame traffic trouble to double up in the National Stakes. Third St Mark’s Basilica re-opposes but clearly needs to revert to the tactics used when he won on soft ground over six because he will have no chance if held up at the rear. Moore has chosen National runner-up Wembley, who has won on this sort of ground over seven but if he misses the kick, like he has on three of his five starts, he will have no chance.

On a line through Lucky Vega, The Queen’s Tactical is just making up the numbers and his worst effort this year was on soft ground in the Prix Morny. Jim Bolger’s Poetic Flare has not been seen since his winning debut in March and would be a real surprise.

Alkumait made a really good impression winning the Mill Reef but is another unknown on the ground and also sits off the pace. The ground should not be a problem for Mill Reef runner-up Fivethousandtoone, second on his debut over six on soft ground and he won easily from the front at the second time of asking. The son of Frankel is an each-way price and will probably get an easy lead here and could quite possibly show them all a muddy set of hooves.

CADILLAC was second in the Futurity to Mac Swiney on soft ground and won both his other starts from up with the pace, most recently the Champions Juvenile, and looks to have the most going for him as a straight win bet. The form of that most recent win could be franked by the runner-up Van Gogh in the preceding Autumn Stakes.

Horses are checked when they arrive at and leave the stables but I guess that somebody put the saddle cloths on the wrong horses and the jockeys had never seen either horse before. Normally the lads/lasses travel with their horses but in this case O’Brien has a set-up this side of the Irish Sea so the lads/lasses did not know they had the wrong horses.

According to Tattersalls Rules that govern betting on horseracing, once the weighed in was signalled the result of the Fillies’ Mile became official and, therefore, bookmakers paid out on that result.

There is no onus on the bookmakers to pay out on an amended result after that but obviously since the changes involve three unfancied runners, many bookies will pay out on the fourth past the post, which will be promoted to third when the two O’Brien fillies are disqualified by the stewards. As the bookmakers have already paid out on outsider Snowfall as the third they will let the bets stand and some will pay out on the horse that was actually third, Mother Earth.

Amazing what the telly archives can produce sometimes ...... Donald Trump doing the quarter-final draw for the 1992 Rumbelows Cup!

The Zetland Stakes seems a bit weak this season, with Nursery winners prominent in the betting and the highest rated on OR is Lone Eagle on 90. That is not great for a Group 3 contest and this looks unlikely to throw up anything of the calibre of former winner Kew Gardens.

My first thought on Kyprios was that the runner up in his race was awful behind Derby Favourite High Definition and the maiden looks pretty mediocre but on the plus side he is by Galileo and likely to improve considerably from his first start. He won on heavy that time, so the ground holds no fears and the 10F trip today should help. He is the one runner in the Zetland who may be a future cup horse in my opinion and I am taking him to stay well and land the spoils today. Not the biggest price in the world but I would probably have him 7/4-15/8 here given connections.

    1.45 Newmarket Kyprios 5/2
