TEA FOR TWO is trading at around 6-1 this evening. I know its a step up in class but Nick Williams knows what it takes to win this race having done so twice in the last few years. The performance at Towcester was superb whilst still being novice which leads me to think that there is a lot more to come. I have no worries about the girl being on board as she has ridden plenty of smart Saturday winners already this season. The horse is yet to finish out of the first three and I think he will be bang there again tomorrow. Good luck to you all
I think he went up something like 18lbs for his win reebs and despite Charlie Deutsch taking off a handy few lbs I still think its a massive hike. He is very well regarded at the yard but you need to be exceptional to win the Lanzarote off topweight!
Like Saphir Du Rheu last year - carrying the same weight, although rated 8lb higher than TFT is now. I'm sure you would know best, but I AM intrigued by the top one
Carruthers was second in Warwick's 3.35 last year. He's an old stager now at 12 years old but now a stone lighter, with ideal conditions and off the back of a very encouraging 3rd lto in his prep race, I can see him being extremely competitive. At 1/4 odds, first 4 places, I think he rates a terrific each way shout at 8/1. If he retains any of his old sparkle, he wins.
Will be interesting to see what DOUVAN does today. Up against a few treelike creatures today he'd want to be looking damn impressive to warrant his Supreme price. I suppose in saying that Nicky's horse also has plenty of question marks too, winning a couple of races where hes seemingly beat two runners in a quagmire! And of course there's Nicky's god awful record of getting horses beat in that to overcome too.
3-35 Warwick - Rigadin du Beauchene 12/1 ew A very much hit or miss horse with his last form figures pu,pu,1,pu,pu,2,1 but is a very good horse on his and I am taking a risk, the stable loves these big Saturday's and venetia knows how to get horses ready he will love the ground as his last 3 PU was on good to soft ground or better which, is why his form figures don't really bother me, won this 2 yrs ago and his latest win was in haydock last february beating a couple of these, he goes well fresh and it is a shame Aiden is not on board but today maybe today is the day to catch him at a decent price!
I'm kind of with you on this Wooly, although it goes completely against my instinct in backing an animal after a longish layoff against fresher runners, and one who has more "P"'s than Batchelors! Pssst: Comp time!
Gardefort 215 wetherby 15/8 is my nap today won very easily LTO and the 11lb rise won't be enough to stop this beast from winning again today GL if you follow
Morning All. Today's lucky 15. 1-55,Warwick.Sego Success. 2-25,Warwick.Big Hands Harry. 2-40,Kempton Park.Hammersley Lake. 3-35,Warwick.Hawkes Point. Good luck to all.
14:25 Warwick - An Poc Ar Buile e/w (This will be my Saturday bet in this marathon hurdle slog, may well be suited by this distance, and is a sporting punt at 12/1, which was the best I could get). GL everyone!
Really struggling to get excited about any of today's cards. The realisation that January as as **** for racing as it is for everything else is s;lowly dawning. This is the day of the horrible handicap, and it won't be the only Saturday like that between now and March. Nonetheless, the Betfred Classic Chase can't be that hard to solve. 3m5f through the midwinter mire? Better send for Venetia then. She runs two, Rigadin De Beauchene and Balloliver. Makes sense to back them both e/w then. Meanwhile, over at Kempton, I've been waiting quite some time for Masters Hill (3.15) to show how good he might be. a bit better than his mark of 137 I reckon.
Tony McCoy riding at Wetherby this afternoon, has he gone there for Adam du Breteau in the 12.35? Trained by Jonjo O'Neill, he was bought for 280,000 GBP. All of his mounts have a good chance of winning, priced at 4/1 or shorter.
Hawkes Point for me in the slog. He is one of the horses in the race who can still improve, and I think with headgear on and hopefully a better start to his race, I think he can slug it out today. He has been backed as well. I am very tempted by Creepy today at Wetherby as he is a cut above the field when on a going day, and I am hopeful that he will get an easy enough lead and can string a field out like washing if he jumps cleanly.
Did each way double on hawkes and tea for two . Was tempted by ballybough pat but thought better of it
