What’s the bumper kings thoughts or anyone else’s on the last at Hereford? Tramps like us is an interesting contender.

I like the filly at the bottom. The yard don’t get many bumper winners (1 from 8 this season) but she has a relatively speedy pedigree so she would be my tentative pick.

Happy Birthday to forum favourite, Nicky Henderson. Have a great day, old boy.

That cruel mistress, Mother Nature, has robbed the great man of the chance to train a birthday winner but the plus to all the abandonments is that the celebrations can now begin earlier at Seven Barrows. <cracker>

Lieutenant Henderson have a fantastic day.

Over the years I have always been drawn to form figures on the flat that read 04. I have long felt that it meant a young horse was on a nice upward curve. Those form figures made me look closer at one this evening.
    LOUGHVILLE 25/1 Wolverhampton 5:20
Having watched her initial efforts she certainly did improve massively from race 1 to race 2. Her second effort was over course and distance and she went off at 200/1. She broke well but was reined back. She stayed on nicely up the straight without ever being shown the persuader and finished a pretty close fourth to a Godolphin short priced favourite. I dont suppose her improvement will be anything like as much again but at the price I do think she has pretty solid each way claims. Bet365 are offering 22/1 for 4 places so I plumped for that.

Anyone see this from last evening's Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale. Rae Guest bought Kutaiba for 10,000 gns last December. She then had one run in a bumper, last month, and won. Sold yesterday for £160,000. Good bit of business for Mr Guest but again proves that winning a bumper, right now, is borderline priceless...

I‘ve decided to make a corned beef and cabbage lasagne - kind of Italian-Irish fusion cuisine. I don’t believe it has ever been done.

Man, that sounds interesting, Oddy! Missus does excellent homemade lasagnes, but your idea is a new one for both the wife and I. Mahlzeit! <ok>

Maybe they'll put-up Oddy for an OBE too? Seriously, I'm sure his dad was awarded the OBE, for supportive work to do with coal-mining workers, something like that?

He served on the rates (later council tax and maybe it morphed into something else after that) valuation tribunal service for over 30 years and became the National President. All voluntary <ok>

A very bleak day for horseracing aficionados, but I'll have one modest go in the AW meeting at Newcastle:

In the 14:19 at Newcastle, Div.2 of a Class-5 Handicap over 1m, the Sea The Stars colt (Damsire: Fastnet Rock), Wonder Legend, might have improved enough from a promising run on the Tapeta surface at Wolverhampton 24-days ago? Cost owners a whopping €220,000 to acquire him!
9/2 (Betfred) best price at time of writing.
    plus:
    Rev.Forecast: Wonder Legend/Zapphire
