Henceforth will the team that we meet
    This Saturday be known,
As Crystal Pulis, on the seat
    He of baseball cap renown

I hope it is still early days
So that the ´ P´ effect,
Has not had time to change their ways
    When Sunday we reflect

I doubt we´ll see a brand new Stoke
    With all that that entails,
But fighting spirit, hearts of oak
    And wind within their sails

So we must match that and then add
A bit more of our own,
No repeat of the ´Toon´ start, lads
    That one must stand alone

Like Redmond, I don´t see this yet
    As a six-pointer game,
But less than a win, some would fret
    About the points we´d claim

And that despite the season still
    Being well short of Jan,
    Off-colour maybe, terminally ill?
    No way, not any man

But there is no hiding the fact
    That CH would sleep well,
    If another West Hammer´s act
Gave three points at the bell. OTBC

I must admit to being a bit concerned about this game. No game in this league is a "gimme" but an awful lot of our fans have high expectations and may well vent their frustrations at the match and cause a few heads to drop! I just hope we can have 100% of the crowd behind the team and willing them on!

Dave- despite the element of supporters who very quickly turn if we don´t score 2 goals in the first 10 mins, or play like Barcelona, there´s fortunately still more than enough (amongst whom we find one D. McNally) who are still prepared to look long-term at the bigger picture. I´m not saying that a defeat here wouldn´t bring the noose a little bit closer, but I think if McNally was the sort to be easily swayed by fan-power, Hughton would have been gone well before now.

I suppose that with more than 30,000 fans, there will always be diverse views, patience and impatience, optimists and pessimists and so on, but the Board are well experienced in these matters and will take the long-term view. I think City are fortunate in this regard, in not having a foreign investor who wants a quick return on his investment or the right to sack the manager at will. McNally, Bowkett, Foulger, Smith and Jones (and Fry) make an experienced team in this regard, looking at more than just the last result. Financially, there is a clean bill of health and the ability to buy new players in January that other bottom half teams must envy. This is the very time to support the team, not undermine them by booing.
