This is likely to be our biggest game of the season. Can't see us taking points from our next three - at Wigan, at Watford, and home to Blackburn - so the away match v Barnsley could be that very definition of a six-pointer. Lose that, and Barnsley are likely to have us in their sights as the ones to overtake by the end of the season, just 3 games later. Can't see Millwall or Yeovil gaining the equivalent of a point per match over the whole season, but we are currently headed for a battle to avoid that last spot. We probably have enough points already in reality to avoid it, but if we give others hope that we won't get any more, especially by gifting victories to teams below us like Blackpool, Birmingham and Barnsley, that could give them the much needed confidence they can drag themselves out. We've already done that to Charlton, Wednesday and Doncaster in recent weeks. Time for these players and manager to forget the crap going on, stop feeling sorry for themselves, and fight for the cause by helping each other instead of hiding on the pitch. Any player that tries to do somethign creative or helpful but it does not come off should be applauded, not lambasted. Those that play safe and offer nothing while appearing to do nothing wrong should be hung out to dry
I'm actually going to write what I hope is an inspiring letter aimed at helping the manager and players forget the building crumbling around them, put FAO Brian McDermott on one and FAO Ross McCormack on another and leave it at Elland Road on my lunch break.
