Just wanted to see what othe Hornet fans think about Sarries being at the Vic for another year. Although they are only going to be playing about 10 matches the pitch was in a poor state last season due to it being over worked. We played more attractive footy away from home last season on flat decent pitches surely the new owner would want us to play attractive footy at home.

i know he has said that they have some temporary measure for this season to help the pitch but i wonder how effective they will be, i personally would have preferred Sarries to have found a new home albeit to the loss of fund for the club.

    Welcome to not 606 Alpha.

I thuink the news got a mixed reception - we appreciate the unbudgeted income but the price is that the pitch will be poor for another season - if you look through you will find a poll on this a page or two back. Good to have you with us

Obviously it's not ideal, but if that money from Sarries ensures we don't have to sell an extra player or two, or we can buy one or two in, then I can cope with it for one more year!

We did have an extremely harsh winter, so if they are doing what they said with covers and the lamps, and this winter isn;t so bad, then hopefully it won;t deterioate quite as quickly! then next season, hopefully we will have a brand-spanking new pitch - unfortunately we possibly won't have Malky to have his team play on it!

I would like a house in Loudwater, another one in Florida along with my own private caribbean island, a ferrari california and lambo reventon in each location. Guess what, I can't afford it. Same goes for the club we have to be real. I'm sure that everybody Bassini included realises we would be better off in terms of playing surface without sarries but they need the surface, we need the money. For this season we'll have to grin and bear it, with next summers promised pitch relay with flattening we have a light at the end of the tunnel on this saga, its a must to deliver though otherwise there will be no trust left as the bridges would be burnt as per simpson and the ringfence saga.

I had a season ticket for Sarries for 8 years (sorry!) and I have to say it was great to see Rugby prosper in the town and I thank Watford from the bottom of my heart as a fan of both clubs.

Sarries (as I'm sure your aware) are moving to a new home and have laid out an all weather grass pitch (the type they use in American Football) and I think that is no surprise due to the pitch woes.

One more season and Watford will have a good pitch as will Sarries. From a Watford standpoint I just hope we can find some extra income next year without selling players, a nice cup run would be just lovely.

TV money is going down significantly from 2012/13 onwards, which won't help.

I don't see why both teams can't play on the pitch, it works for several other clubs. The only difference being is that ours is going to be 14 years old this year.

Even if it only lasts 6 years, if the cost of relaying it is shared then it's beneficial.

    And I despise rugby!
