If we can get Yak on loan then both Maynard and Yak would be a possibility

I'd love it too, and lets be honest, with the amount of stories that the mail put about us signing a striker, they're bound to get one right at some point.

As for santa cruz, I had a look at the list of strikers man city have and did think of him.
Haven't we had this one before tho??

Steve McClaren is monitoring Everton's Ayegbeni Yakubu and Jermaine Beckford as he attempts to find a solution to Nottingham Forest’s striker shortage.
Everton are eager to offload Yakubu, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester, and McClaren knows the Nigerian well from their time at Middlesbrough.

On his way? Everton are keen to offload Yakubu who was loaned out to Leicester
But Forest could face competition for Yakubu from Leicester, who have also expressed interest in Everton’s Victor Anichebe.
The Foxes have also bid £5.5million for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard after missing out on Robbie Keane.

It was only a few weeks ago that everton had said the yak was now in their plans. the chances of them selling or loaning either, let alone both are slim in my eyes. especially for a team who haven't brought anyone in this summer.

Thought Yak was going to some random Turkish club?

If he does come, hopefully Kasper will give him a good rollicking and get him to actually look like he gives half a crap.

As for Santa Cruz, if he is willing and able it is worth a shot.

Am surprised that no one has mentioned Bellamy yet.

Yak will favour whoever pays him more - was the reason he didn't come to us on a proper transfer.

We ought to pay the Yak what he wants on the premise that he loses some pounds, puts the effort in and shows that he's arsed every week.

He should have a base salary of say 20k and he has to work his socks off (not necessarily have to score) to get the rest of his wages. If he's lazy but still scores then he can also have his money but lazy and no goals and he get's his base rate. If only it could work like that!!

Rumours around the West Midlands are that Wolves are looking to sell Sylvan Ebanks-Blake once Keven Doyle is fit.

Four Championship clubs have enquired but Southampton have bid £3.5 million. This has been rejected as not enough but probably wouldn't take much more to seal the deal.

More proven at this level than Maynard IMO.

I would have noth Maynard and SEB. Get rid of Howard, SEB is more like a championship version of the Yak.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but sven has said that he will know in the next couple of days whether howard will go out on loan or not. perhaps an indication that he may be close to getting someone in.
