A great article from German journalists ...'changes were made to British football which have seen whole generations and whole social classes all but banished from our football stadia, which have been transformed into theatres of passive entertainment for those who can afford it.' http://www.fsf.org.uk/blog/view/fc-koeln-in-london-did-the-media-get-it-wrong
After a comment by Sterling earlier, I flicked onto BBC2 only to see it was half time in the England v Russia (Womens) WCQ. The pundits were all going on about how moving the Women's league to winter will kill it as they are in direct competition with Men's football. They also said that most of their spectators are women and families. If that's so then have men just given up on watching the football entirely?
FC Koln at Arsenal was a clash of football culture which completely exposed Arsenal for the sanitised modern football ****ers they are. Well done FC Koln.
The British press been ****s and lying about football fans. Worra shock. They're not, interested in reporting what actually happens.
Gary Neville called the British press out last season for journalists writing articles for effect and the shock factor. He's not wrong. They don't care what they publish as long as it sells. It's sad really...
In the past my son has 'accused' me of being middle class simply because i had a 'good salary' and live in a 'nice house'. Soon put him right, cheeky little blighter.
Just read the article. Absolutely bang on old chap. I detest what the 'establishment' have done to our game.
Yes I agree. They've stuck it in a Twin Tub. Then given it a good Old Spin and then hung it out to dry!!! Bit like what the Allams have done to City.
The first British million pound transfere did it for me, Steve Daley or Trevor Francis I think, I realised back then that football was more or less a dead sport for me after blindly following the game for years. My first visit to the KC just confirmed everything that I had been trying to deny, that football was not the game I had set out and watched when 9/10 years old and from that first visit to the KC has been going downhill for the likes of me, fast.
And I guess while we bemoan it, the outcome is exactly what the establishment wanted. 'Cleansed', multi billion pound industry.
