Apparently this morning Redknapp said on talkSPORT that Sandro got his knee injury from celebrating a goal in training by sliding on his knees! Unbelievable if thats true, but with Redknapp you never know what to believe as he said Kranjcar practices free kicks all the time, and then Kranjcar says he doesn't!
I believe in looking on the bright side. Really can't see him being injured as often as some people, such as Kieron Dyer, so we probably shouldn't be as concerned as we are about the amount of games he won't be available for.
Let's hope it's not serious, otherwise he will look a right idiot. Why does HR come out with such things? Surely, it's better to say he picked up an injury during training and leave it at that. I doubt HR will start with Henry though in Sandro's absence.
This fun, lets rubbish absolutely everything that comes out on news - no matter how many ways it can be interpreted.
That was £10m (?) well spent that was, celebration slide on hard surface after nearly ending his career a couple of seasons ago with an ACL injury. If he had brains he'd be dangerous.
Perhaps he should consider trying to score a goal in a real game. He should discover such a novel approach will result in a far more universal celebratory reaction. He'll still look like a proper pr1ck if he injures himself celebrating though.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp furious at Sandro over 'stupid' injury caused by celebration Setback: Sandro injured his knee celebrating a goal in training Simon Johnson QPR boss Harry Redknapp is furious with midfielder Sandro after he injured his troublesome knee while celebrating scoring a goal in training last week. Sandro, who joined QPR from Tottenham for £10m last month, has a long history of knee problems and suffered a fresh blow in a freak incident. The Brazil international limped off in agony moments after sliding in jubilation at finding the net in a practice match. It meant he was ruled out of the 2-2 draw with Stoke on Saturday. Standard Sport understands Sandro has only suffered minor damage and while he will miss the trip to Southampton this weekend, he been earmarked to play against West Ham on Sunday week. The news is a major lift for Redknapp because the club is short of midfielders at present. Jordan Mutch and Joey Barton are struggling with hamstring problems and Alejandro Faurlin is out for the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury. Redknapp is still upset by the foolish nature of Sandroâs absence, especially with the other players already ruled out. He said: âIt was a stupid injury. He scored a goal in training and slid on his knee like a lot of players do. I donât know why players do it. âThe pitch was bone dry so he skidded. His knee has gone bang into the turf and I watched him trying to get up wondering âwhatâs he done here?â Sure enough he wasnât fit for Saturday. âI couldnât believe it. He had a knee operation at Tottenham last year which kept him out for quite a while. It was a setback for us and I wouldnât recommend anyone sliding on their knees. Itâs absolutely crazy. âI started the season with six central midfielders and now have Faurlin, Sandro, Barton and Mutch all injured. Itâs a bit of a problem for us. I just have Leroy Fer and Karl Henry to be fit for Saturday against Southampton.â so are they now practicing goal celebrations as well
I think a midfield triangle of Fer, Henry and Kranky will do us well. Two deeper with Fer a bit more licence to roam and Henry an out and out holding player. There's still too many hamstring injuries and I'm not sure it can just be coincidence.
Harry, we all know it was your fault for not watering the pitch before practice and not following WH&S regulations by supplying knee pads, elbow pads, a cricketers box, hard hat with sunviser, block out 30+ sunscreen, condom and a porta-loo. How many times must we spell it out for. ........ And he has the hide to curse the player!
Interesting that this was reported yesterday (maybe even the day before) almost as a passing comment from Harry on talkSport but today he's furious about it. Don't like the way modern media works. (Tomorrow this would be reported as "qpr_badger in furious outburst against modern media")
