Rumours hes off to West Ham as big Sams number 2 If we need a replacement, and its a big if,not sure we do It HAS to be........wait for it PACO AYESTARAN
He had a great relationship with the players but thats about it... When Steve Clarke came in it was obvious to anyone watching that Sammy Lee was playing gooseberry and was either going to jump or be pushed eventually
The Guardian reports: While it has been suggested that Lee could rejoin West Ham United's Sam Allardyce â who he previously assisted at Bolton Wanderers â this appears unlikely. Allardyce boasts a strong back room at Upton Park but, perhaps more significantly, there are appreciable differences in the pair's playing philosophies.
Arsenal fan in peace: Even though you have a tailor made successor in Steve Clarke, what do you think to giving the AM job to Carra? I think he will turn into one hell of a manager and now seems like a good opportunity for him to gain some experience.
I still think Carra wants to be on the pitch... also after his injury last season he came back in to the team and our need for him at the back was greatly shown. I reckon it will be 2-3 years before Carra joins the backroom staff
Interesting suggestion. I think Bozz is right though, it's probably best that Carra waits 'til he finishes playing and we cant afford to lose him on the pitch at the moment. One for the future.
Its important Carragher stays with the team as he has a huge role to play at the moment. He can help the English players settle aswell as commanding the defence. Kelly, Flano and Robinson clearly benifitted under Jamie's leadership and another 1-2 years at least can really drill some real grit into the team. On the subject of Lee, he did have a lesser role in January in respect to the appointment Steve Clarke who I expect to be promoted to Assistant Manager.
Yeah I was thinking more as a player/assistant, like a lot of players use to do in the past. No way would it mean he has to stop playing, because he organizes your back 4 extremely well.
I think around two years down the line he could become a coach and gain experience, a few years later, assistant, and inevitably, Liverpool FC manager.
could this be God's wish coming through... liverpool will need a coach , God wants a coaching gig at liverpool. i hope so. p.s. i personally think Steve Clarke was assistant manager in all but name since he joined the club
I heard something different.I heard that he's been demoted to first team coach.Which under Kenny he was in everything but name.Steve Clarke was effectively the assistant manager.Sammy was effectively Roy Evans,Steve Clarke was Ronnie Moran.Steve Clarke was ''Mr Nasty'' to Sammy's ''Mr Nice''.Again like Ronnie Moran and Roy Evans. If Sammy does leave, and this has been bandied about for a while,I reckon that Carra could possibly be player/first team coach.
SSN Reporting Sammy has left the club, rumour is that his role has been reduced since Steve Clarkes appointment. If true then good luck to him in his next job.
