So it's now legal in Scotchland. Good or bad? To be honest I'm fairly indifferent to it, why not? I dont agree with buggeration and lezzers rug muching each other but it is no concern of mine.

My only problem with it is whose going to think of the kids? Are we perhaps warping their views at too early an age.

I have a few friends that are jobby jabbers and furry cup drinkers but each to their own I say. As Paul McCartney said "Hey Jude".

Anyone have any strong views unlike myself?

In my experience, sex is always the same in marriage.

You're getting ahead of yourself ER, it's not legal yet. The bill has to be passed first, so there will be no same sex marriages till 2015 at the earliest.

Not yet. They want to live together for a couple of years first before they make the commitment. <ok>

Did you ever see The Comic Strips "Bullshitters"?

Bonehead and Foyle running around the streets of London in their y-fronts??

    Sublime stuff.

They get to call themselves married rather than civil partnerships. It's a bit like how does your Irish Passport differ from having a British one since they both do the same thing?

If I remember correctly, they end up wrestling each other half-naked on top of a slagheap in an abandoned industrial site. <laugh>

    That's quite an odd comparison.

I thought it was quite apt actually, some people care about declaring their nationality on a piece of paper, some people care about declaring themselves as Married on a piece of paper - even if it makes very little material or legal difference to their lives.

One example is that if I were to be murdered abroad the Irish embassy would be contacted. Is there any difference at all with this law?
