I've seen a lot of comments to the effect that he's slow and clumsy. Frankly, I don't thing he is either. He make LOOK clumsy because of his overall size (Tony Adams was hardly balletic) but I think that is misleading. I don't think he's that slow either, and he does seem to have that quality of hating to lose, and giving his very best. Years ago Arsenal had Bobby Gould as a striker - totally useless, but the crowd loved him. Why? Because he obviously gave 100%+ despite his limited ability. It counts a lot and can inspire others. I think that Samba is well worth a punt.
All he does is stand in a deep defensive line and boot every ball coming at him as far away as he can. Granted he is very good at it but I don't think he has the attributes or the quality to fit in to our system.

Samba is a natural leader, good at organizing defences and I think Arsenal don't have a player who can do that bar Vermaelen. Just imagine them two playing together, both leaders, both strong and will compliment each other perfectly.
Maybe we should change our system then? How often do you watch Arsenal and see our two CB's left exposed against the oppositions strikers. It's not exactly like we're currently running a winning formula is it?
I like having a high defensive line as it means we can put pressure on the other team and win the ball higher up the pitch. I think its a better approach than playing on the counter attack all the time. So for me we need to improve the defensive quality of our midfield so we stop the CB's becoming more exposed rather than changing our defence.
