excellent news although I am sure I have read he is interested in a move to Paris St Germain. Having said that, it would not surprise me to see Arsenal make a bid......athough our need is greater than theres!!
We are now 4/6 favs to sign him with spurs 11/10 and PSG 4/1. With the request handed in surely just a matter of time. Big Chris to sigh on Thursday !!! Massive signing literally.
Would you make him highest paid player at the club? Might be what it takes to keep Spurs and PSG off......
On submitting a transfer request, he said: "I have today officially requested a transfer from Blackburn Rovers Football Club. I have personally informed the owners, manager and executives at the club that I want to leave in this transfer window. "In my five years at Blackburn Rovers Football Club I have always given 100 per cent in every game I have played. I have had several opportunities to leave but I have always stayed. "I have decided now is the right time for me to pursue a new challenge and I have asked the club to respect my decision and allow me to leave. "I thank the fans for their support and I hope they feel I have served them and their club well."
Don't like to sound negative, but why would he choose to come to a club in a relegation dogfight when he could choose clubs who are CL qualification contenders, or PSG? It doesn't seem likely to me, but I hope I'm wring because we couldn't half do with his services.
Would love him to come but begs the question why he would want to join us with the position we are in. Although, if he wants a challenge he will certainly get one!
Why on earth he would go PSG in the mickymouse-league when he's still under 30. I believe we would go to spurs because the chance for a title and because blackburn dont want to sell him to us. We can match spurs bid but it would be insane for blackburn to let him go to LR. So Alex it will be.......
PSG may have money but realistically the French league is a massive step down in standard from the PL. Why wouldn't he choose Spurs? well he already came out and said he wasn't impressed at how players haven't produced, players probably who he puts himself in a similar category too. Why would he choose Rangers? Well with Hughes in charge, he may see it as an opportunity to spearhead a revolution. Who knows, i'm sure his agent will have a lot to say in the matter too.
Because he would play every game here, at spurs he might only get a handful of games a season. Weve also got a manager than hes worked with previously.
Samba signing would turn 1-0 defeats into 0-0 draws. Still not enough to keep us in the Premiership. Priority needs to be a proven goal scorer.
