http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...d-Sunderland-target-Leeds-youngster-Sam-Byram The full-back, 20, has emerged as one of the brightest talents outside the top flight after bursting onto the scene with Leeds. Now it has emerged he is a wanted man, with the Saints leading the chase to lure Byram to the Premier League. The Saints have had a £4.5m bid rejected by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, while the Black Cats have also seen a similar offer turned down. But Cellino might have no choice but to cash-in on the England U20 international and sell him to the highest bidder. Starsport can reveal Byram has told the Championship outfit he wants to leave, with the Black Cats his preferred choice. Byram is desperate to have a shot at the big time and also knows he could see his wages quadruple with a move to the top flight. The Saints are desperate for defensive re-enforcement's following the summer sales of Luke Shaw and Calum Chambers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wouldnt be a bad one at all, young, english and coming of age Plus depth in defence!
He's a rb, gets pretty good on FM. That's all I know, seeing as it's the Daily Star I will be taking this with a pinch of salt
Southampton have had a £5 million bid for right-back Sam Byram rejected by Leeds United, Goal understands. The 20-year-old has already cemented his place in the Championship club’s first team and was set to be included in England’s Under-20 World Cup squad last summer before being forced to pull out with a hip injury. Sunderland have also submitted an offer for Byram but Leeds are holding out for a fee in the region of £10m.
2 Leeds lads I know who I've just asked same mate 'future England RB' apparently. Didn't really elaborate on what is good about him, seeing that they were on the bus to Millwall...
@marshyleeds Have heard Sam Byram doesn't fancy a move to ‪#‎Saintsfc‬, but is holding out for ‪#‎SAFC‬ to follow up their initial interest and make firm bid
Didn't poyet say he wants 7 defenders? If diakite leaves and this lad comes in surely we'd be sorted at the back.
Its alonso i want, im happy with our CB's for one more season, especially if PvA is fast, Roberge looks decent and i like diakite too, but poyets not as keen
Roberge is wanting to fight for his place, so according to gus we only need 1 more, or 2 if gus doesnt fancy roberge we have cover at RB in vergini but no cover at LB so alonso would be perfect and a CB, do we keep Roberge? £10m for Byram would seem a bit steep, when we dont really need a RB I thought we might get van djik but with celtic being re-instated to champs league.
Didn't realise they wanted £10m! far too much, thought the figure quoted was £5m? keep roberge, looks tidy and if wants to stay then im happy. Alonso would be perfect, but he isn't gonna come, its time to accept that and move on
