On a retrieval mission after Wednesday night’s flop.

We are very short of options up front, with Paul Smyth still out injured.

    A game we should win.

It’s a shame if Shinnie is out. He and Albie Morgan have been our best midfielders IMO.

Famewo and Maatsen will be back, which is a big plus. If Pearce is fit I'd play him alongside Famewo, left-footed or not, with Gunter back at RB, where Matthews struggled badly on Wednesday. If we're to get back on track it will be by grinding out 1-0's, our lack of attacking threat is such a concern whoever starts. Our midfield looks like being Pratley Watson Morgan Gilbey, which makes for a scrappy game, which is ok if you win.

Hasn't Famewo tested positive for Coronavirus? Or was that somebody else.

Whether we win or not is pot luck.
Sometimes the starting XI clicks, sometimes it capitulates.
I expect at least 4 changes, but whether or not that will help is anybody's guess.
Based on the surrenders to Burton & MK Dons I fear Shrewsbury will mug us as well.

    Oshilaja and Levitt.
I'd like to see Williams start. I thought he had his mojo back last Saturday. He doesn't seem to play as well as a sub any more, anyone else thought the same?

I really liked Williams in his first 18 months at the Club, but I get the feeling that he is drinking in the last chance saloon now.

I think it's telling that his contract was extended by his invoking of the extension clause rather than the club tying him down to a longer term. Same as JF-C.

Easy win tomorrow puts us back on track.
Last time I went to Shrewsbury was the 3-0 win done a long weekend.
Always wanted to go to Chester so shot up there on the sunday.

    It's MATCH DAY! :1980_boogie_down:

Time to put past setbacks out of mind and hope for a great result today.
Gloom and doom after full time if it's necessary, but hope and anticipation until then... :emoticon-0157-sun:

Charlton: Amos; Gunter, Pearce (C), Famewo, Maatsen; Watson, Pratley, Forster-Caskey, Gilbey; Aneke, Washington

Subs (not used): Maynard-Brewer, Matthews, Purrington, Morgan, Henry, Williams, Bogle

Not much Pace in midfield, surprised to see Forster- Caskey go straight into the team. He hasn't played for a while. Good to see Famewo and Pearce back in the team.

    No Shinnie or Maddison.

Stodgy looking midfield. Maybe the subs can get us a late goal if it's 0-0 after an hour.

Hopefully we can return to being solid at the back, then kick on from there.

YEs, that back 4 plus Pratley and Watson should make us difficult to score against.

A 2,000 crowd makes a lot more noise in a small stadium like this one.
