Apparently we're interested as he's out of contract in the summer... Thoughts? Source is the fail, so lies probably!

Not for me, not prolific in any way, converts about one in 20 chances probably, he's been in the PL a good few years now and never been up there with the high scorers, not much better at International level either....remind you of any others strikers! <whistle>

He's not called 'Hasn't got a Kalou' for nothing! :)

he's another "Salif Diao" or "El Hadji Diouf" for me. - mediocre. A player where I've often wondered how he's played for Chelsea for so long.

I also can't stand him and I don't know why. I think it's that ridiculous celebration he does with his hand over his mouth. - makes me want to knock him out.

so yeah, lets get him in!

    erm.....no

where would he play? he's a 4-3-3 striker, and we don't play that. He's not creative enough imo to play a 4-4-2 as the main Berbatov style striker and we already have 2 finishers in defoe and saha, isn't a winger, won't play in the vdv role, or the ade role so would be a complete waste of time.

....unless he is free and replaces defoe, which i would take.

    No thanks.

Chelsea fans don't even rate him that much. We need to improve the squad, not just add numbers to it.

I've always thought he was good and I think I suggested we sign him at the beginning of the season. The reason he hasn't signed a new deal though is because he wants close to £100k pw and is already on around £70/80k. I'm all for breaking our wage structure in the summer but not for the likes of Kalou, he certainly wouldn't walk into our team.

  8. My Chelsea supporting mate will be glad to see the back of Kalou.

That tells me everything I need to know.

Spurs don't need Kalou... They should bid for Luuk De Jong.

He's a decent player to have in the squad, but as his wage demands are higher than our first team we should pass.

No, not least because I can see my toes when I'm in the shower.

Our upper wage limit is £60k per week, maybe with some leeway. Kalou is on £70k at Chelsea, yet expects a wage increase to £100k (which is how Joe Cole priced himself out of moves to MUPLC, Arsenal and Spurs), which will put off potential suitors. But, as Liverpool were dumb enough to not negotiate on Joe Cole's wages, there's always one place he could go, although their transfer policy has looked remarkably Caucasian for the last five years...

That 60k limit is quality, you won't get bankrupt like that.

It came up a while ago on (I think) here, the last black players they signed were David N'gog and Glen Johnson.

Not sure if that would be enough to put them off signing a whole section of the footballing world, like Francis Jeffers clearly put Wenger off the idea of signing English players for several years...

    Kalou's a strange player.
He's good when it's hot and sunny and mediocre the rest of the time, for some reason.
Starts and ends a season well, but does very little in between.
Maybe he doesn't like the cold or something?
A move to a warmer clime might benefit him.

hes rubbish scores once every 10-15 games shoot the idiot who would buy such a player when we have youngsters in our ranks who could probably be just as rubbish and get 1 in 10-15 games...and if it happens i give up because it just proves that we will forever have a small club mentality.

they want one of our main stars in Luka and we want their Jenas.....i really will stop contributing financially to the club if that happened.
