Just read on BBC sport that he has gone/is going to Werder Bremen. Another left back slips the net and this lad looked good. Also that Russian lad Progwhatshisname agreed terms with Reading.

he is a right back pal but yer he would of certainly been a fantastic signing and I bet he is going for less than 4m

I said on the post about Keith Andrews that we need to be adventurous and take risks with new signings and that lad would of been a fantastic signing IMO, much better than the average plodder like Andrews who will never push us on.

Need to look at Newcastle and the way they go about there transfer business, they certainly caused an upset in the league last season and are now going for really good players in Debuchy, Anita and De Jong. Would certainly have the first two here.

There is bargains out there, Werder Bremen or in might be Wolfsburg have signed the left winger who was arguably the Czech's best player at the Euro's for 1m!!! The lad looked fantastic!

Ha ha fair enough. Could have sworn he was playing on the left for his country?? Wont start sweating until the transfer window officially opens but would love a bit of good news soon.

Deffo RB, and a player I sharked throughout the tournament.

Looked excellent, would have been a good un, and as said, bet he went for pennies.

Looked OK in the 1st 3 matches, looked completely out of his depth against Ronaldo, mind you he wont be the 1st right back to look like that when Ronaldo is on the sort of form he seems to be hitting atm. (he was at fault for the goal imo)

Looked quick but i cant remember him making many tackles in any of the games.

Yeah, but that's the modern wing back, 'adequate' defensively, but offer a wee bit more on the attack.

you just described Richardson to a T, and he isnt good enough for most, and Bardsley is the other way, great defensively, poor going forward and passing forward (tends to lump it upfield). Glen Johnson is **** as well, but he is more attacking than defence.

not getting at what you said as i tend to agree, but its a funny old game.

    Ha, aye.

For the record, I'm one of those who likes Ricco at left back, think we look more balanced.

I still dont mind Richardson at left back. Certain we had our best defensive record last season when he was in the team.

We never got enough chance to see him with Super Mc, I think his work rate would massively help and improve Kieron, and also reduce the impact of teams doubling up on Jimmy.

Potentially the best pairing since Gray and Johnston.

Agreed mate, not there level of course, and no shame in that, but pretty close, and potential to improve massively as well.

I actually used to thank god for Johnson & Summerbee, what a ****ing team to watch we had.

agreed, over the last 4 or 5 season's the best pairings have been IMO Richardson/Malbranque and Richardson/McClean

full back's who can add something extra on the attack are a must
