As you know, Salisbury was kicked out of the Conference Prem and put into the Conference South pending they sort out finances and ownership. The conference have now kicked Salisbury out of the Conference South! Here is a statement made by Salisbury about this! I feel really sorry for them!
Its not looking good for Hereford either Hereford United's Edgar Street shut due to safety fears Hereford United's Edgar Street home has been prevented from hosting matches because of crowd safety concerns. After two emergency meetings with the club this week, Herefordshire Council have postponed a charity game on 6 July and a friendly with Cardiff on 11 July. It said: "The council is not satisfied the club can currently meet the requirements of the safety certificate. "No football matches are to be held in front of spectators at Edgar Street until this has been addressed."
and salisbury are saying this decision by the conference is stopping them from paying their staff and recruiting a manager and players. and thanks to the in above about hereford, no games can be played in front of fans so hereford wont get paid any gate reciepts so how will they afford to pay their staff and players etc??
Sad days for both clubs...as true football fans no-one wants to see clubs fold. We have to make sure that our club, having already slid into the Conference, doesn't continue downwards. Therefore the board has to be held closely to account, hence all the meetings etc!...................
Sad days for both clubs...as true football fans no-one wants to see clubs fold. I have a great deal of sympathy for the fans of these clubs. Nobody deserves to be treated this way, when so much effort has been made to meet the conditions which were demanded. I am really pleased to see that so many Rover's fans are committed in their support. I just looked across the river at their Board. Can't see a mention. Very little else except a board overloaded with mindless comments about the Gas!
It is sad to see what's happen to these 2 clubs, but this is what happens if you spend money that you don't have. The FFP regulations that have been brought in will help, but ultimately (IMO) the power still rests with players and their agents. While clubs are willing to pay over the odds for mediocre players (and yes my club is guilty of that) this scenario will continue.
Hmmm, the other side of the story.. In the statement, the Conference said: “Salisbury City Football Club Limited has failed to meet the requirements of the Football Conference which would enable retention of the Club’s membership in Conference South. “The Club has failed to deposit a Bond requested by the Board; failed to pay football creditors outstanding from last season; and furthermore it has subsequently failed to submit an Application for Membership for the 2014/15 season; and failed to remit its subscription for the forthcoming season. “In accordance with its decision made on, and transmitted to the Club on 13 June 2014, Salisbury City FC Limited has been expelled from membership of the Football Conference.” Salisbury had been given two (unprecedented) extensions after failing to meet the original June 5 deadline, although it’s hard to see how a club who hadn’t applied for membership could ever be included in the fixtures.
"I just looked across the river at their Board. Can't see a mention. Very little else except a board overloaded with mindless comments about the Gas' Firstly, You didn't look very hard.. Secondly, look up irony in a dictionary...
Former Hereford United manager Peter Beadle has confirmed he is still owed money by the troubled football club. Hereford are due back in court in London on Monday morning to face the previously adjourned winding-up petition served by Beadle's predecessor as Bulls boss, Martin Foyle. But 42-year-old Beadle is disappointed that he remains one of many of Hereford's unpaid football creditors. "I've not had one phone call. Not one e-mail. Nothing from anybody," he said. That's bad but look at the picture of Beadle. He's been on the pies since he left the gas http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28184769
