Seasonal Greetings all, and welcome to Reverse The Mechanism, Thread 4. And on today's thread, we have the traditional Christmas dinner leftovers match, as we come up against Turkeyham Hotsprouts. Moreover, a clash of managerial titans awaits as our own Ralph comes up against Italian maestro, Antonio Conte, fresh from his disappointment at just missing out on the Christmas number one spot, with his merry singalong, Boris Johnson is still a Conte. ANTONIO CONTE Hotsprouts will provide another stern test, as they begin to find form and Harry Kane remembers that he's there to score football goals. However, after a stellar away win against Wham! in the last game, Southampton will feel confident of being able to snatch another surprise win against one of the league's higher echelon teams. Or something like that. HAIRY CANE However, you're not here for that, are you? You're here for a bastardised version of a song or play, and who am I to disappoint? Keeping things seasonal, as we're still in the perineum between Christmas Day and the New Year, very few people are aware that in the depths of Denmark, people gather to celebrate Christmas by singing a national favourite carol, Good King Vestegaard. I've taken the liberty of reprinting it here for you, so you can sing along at your heart's content. GOOD KING VESTEGAARD Good King Vestegaard watch out, Not as good as Stephens. Thank you Leicester for that shout, Not worth fifteen million. Brighty quicker than you now, So is Mike Newell. When a quick man comes in sight, It is almost cruuuu-ellll. Dither, pace, left back Berty. If thou know it telling: Let him go there on a free? Why would not be selling? Sire, he was quite good one time, Now he'd get the sack, Selling him would be a crime We'd rather play a riiiight back. Bring me Jo, Thomas Brolin. Bring me Marcelinho. None of them as bad as thine, Agustin Delgado. Page and Boumsong, Sean Dundee, Eric Djemba-Djemba. All better than poor Vesty And the bitter weather. With our win yesterday, this is a total free hit in my book. Spurs are in great form but we do have a good record playing Spurs at home at this time of the year.

Excellent MDT Laces. You had me singing along to that one, as I bask in the warm glow of yesterday's first win in seven.
Breaking News: The game is OFF due to a COVID outbreak!* *for the No7 household. Grandkids, Son in law tested positive, Myself Mrs No7 & daughter OK (so far). Funny how the Brits are ok....
Very bad time to play Spurs. They have got that new manager bounce and are looking really sharp. I think we will struggle here, but yesterday's win makes it a free hit as Tom said.
I fancy a point from this one. As long as RH plays us solid at the back, we could (hopefully) grind out a really dull draw. COYR
I’d take a both teams knackered after playing 2 days ago defensive master class/bore draw too please. Though suspect that Spurs will beat us quite easily. Different beast under Conte. But thanks to the unexpected 3 points against West Ham the pressure is off. Just hope we don’t get thrashed!
Cheers - I am ok atm and Mrs No7 & my daughter, but matter of time as have you ever tired isolating a 3 and 5 year old in a bedroom all day lol...
I would like us to learn from last season’s game, against them, when they ripped us apart by quick transitions from defence to attack. I would sooner give them the ball in their own half, and then press from the halfway line so we can stay more compact and not give Son/Kane/Alli acres of space to run in behind our back four. On our day we break well from deep, don’t necessarily score but it would be good to play them at their own game, maybe with Adarma upfront with Broja to use their pace.
