So... another match thread It seems I've got the winning touch and to underline my match thread candidacy to extend beyond interim match thread creator, I will showcase how the fortunes of Tonda and DTLW continue to dovetail for the benefit of Southampton Football Club But first, a match thread poem... There was a young coach named Tonda Who planned to give Spors some' to ponder He went to the Valley And made Saints fans fonder By whooping that melt from the Rhondda -- And just to underline the record of Tonda/myself to-date... Southampton among Championship sides since Tonda Eckert took interim charge: ◉ Joint-most wins (3) ◉ Most big chances (14) ◉ Most goals scored (10) ◉ Best goal difference (+7) Southampton among Championship sides since DTLW took charge of match threads: ◉ Joint-most wins (3) ◉ Most big chances (14) ◉ Most goals scored (10) ◉ Best goal difference (+7) Tonda Eckert is the only Southampton manager this century to win his first three matches in charge DTLW is the only Southampton not606 thread poster this century to win all of a new manager's first three matches in charge Under Will Still Southampton picked up 12 points in 13 games as he left them hovering above the relegation zone in the Championship Since Tonda Eckert and DTLW have been interim manager/thread poster Southampton have got 9 points in 3 games and have climbed up to 13th in the league -- Can it continue against Leicester? And is Tonda now the King-in-waiting? Over to you...
The last time I toyed with the idea of going to watch us play Leicester at home, the weather looked terrible and we lost 9-0. I think it's going to be around 3 degrees tomorrow night.
Back down to earth tomorrow I reckon. We're not allowed nice things. Feels like we nearly always lose to Leicester. At least Vardy has gone I suppose. 2-1 away win.
It's been a long time since I've been this excited about a home game. Albeit I wouldn't be at all surprised if we lose. All three outcomes are very, very possible.
Was thinking about this during the international break. Weird that it's taken til end of November to have our first home midweek game. Got another in two weeks too.

As someone who has previous experience of a Championship match day thread, you should get the job full time. But knowing SR, they'll probably go leftfield and give it to a poster who's never done one before. You'll then go over to the Middlesbrough board and be a resounding success. We've seen it all before. I've just read the match preview on the BBC and believe it or not there's no mention of the 0-9. It's only taken 6 years.
Bet the commentators will mention it though. Been a while since we've had a 9-0 sweepstake, I'll go 9th minute.
Can we please make sure we have a quick CB playing nearest Manning to combat Fatawu and not Stephens. Thanks.
My main concern is the pace of Leicester's wingers if/when our wingbacks are caught high up the pitch. I fully expect us to be far more cagey in the first half than we were on Saturday. Leicester will almost certainly set up to hit us on the counter attack so we must be prepared for it.
