After a welcome win at the Riverside on Saturday, Saints welcome Manchester United to St Marys in a televised match (SS1) on Wednesday 17th May, 7-45. It was a much changed team that beat Middlesbrough 2-1 with good goals from Jay Rod and Redmond. Long missed a penalty which would have made the score 3-0 and avoided the typical nail biting finish to the game. United lost 2-1 away to Spurs on Sunday.

Saints have climbed to 9th, only below WBA in 8th on GD. ManU remain 6th.

    Referee: Mike Dean
    Assistants: I Hussin, S Long
    Fourth official: G Scott

Saints last 5 Home Games: 1 win (Crystal Palace), 2 draws (Hull, Bournemouth), 2 losses (City, Arsenal).
ManU's last 5 Away Games: 2 wins (Burnley, Sunderland), 1 draw (City), 2 losses (Arsenal, Spurs).

How about a club badge or two, Fran. Spruce it up a bit. Looks a bit 'end of season with nothing to play for' to me. ;)

Marriner's refereeing? Right, that's it, there's no point going as United will win 3-2. :)

Hang on Fran, where did you get the officials from? It still says TBC on Premier League website.

It just occurred to me it was the exact team of officials (including the fourth official) that officiated the EFL Cup final. I highly doubt that will be the case!

If Arsenal beat Sunderland on Tuesday night then Man Utd will be guaranteed to finish in 6th.

Jose then more likely to send out reserves and save big names for Europa final?

With one eye on 8th place, WBA are away at MCity so a point would suffice to move up a place and then they are away at a jubalent Swansea on Saturday.
    A definite possibility guys

Absolutely, he's not going to risk anyone who could play in the final, knowing this I'm not sure who Claude will play. He got it right last week (despite some people calling his team ridiculous) Pied and Caceres made good debuts. If they hadn't I think we would revert to the tried and tested. Now he has something to think about. I think he'll play those 2 again with maybe Austin starting but hell I'm not a premiership manager and Claude is!

Did Martin do more than what Jack has been doing? No, he did not. Happy that Mart got a run out, but I'd have my boy back in again now. Fresh.

I'm not sure Pied and Cacares will be match fit enough to play 2 games that quickly. Especially considering thats' Martins first real game in over a year.

I really do agree that Jack has proved his worth but think these last 2 games should be used for the other possibles (if they're fit enough)

How about if Martin was just filling in for Virgil, so that Jack doesn't directly get turfed out of the first eleven.? Personally, I've wanted to see what Martín Cáceres could do after so long out. If that was the measure of his first game back, and in the PL, then it was impressive.

Wouldn't mind Chiellini next to him as well. ;)
