V Thursday 27 April 19.45 Ref: Darren England Asst refs: Dan Cook and Dan Robathan 4th official: John Brooks VAR: Andy Madley It’s round 33 of The Hope that kills non-derby derby match against our lovely cherry pie neighbours. I can almost smell our 3rd home win of the campaign in this round of midweek games all shown live on BT Sport. Also an opportunity to notch our 3rd double of the season having annihilated them 0-1 earlier in the season. I open the discussion once again in what I hope will be an unbroken run of match threads through to Le Saint’s Great Escape. Who will the random team tombola generate for this one? Maybe young Edozie will get the unexpected starting berth for this one? Having got involved in my first Poznan at The Emirates I think we should get this going at home on Thursday. There is something joyous about linking shoulders with fellow Saints fan with your back to the game and I highly commend to all. Let the discussion commence….
Bazza KWP DCC Bednarek Perraud JWP Lavia Alcarez Armstrong Edozie TP We’ll smash em. Massive 1-0 win coming up.
Do or die. I’d play: Mccarthy Kwp Bednarek ABK Perraud Jwp Lavia Edozie Alcaraz Sulemana Paul (Che if fit) Lord knows what Selles’ tombola will choose this week. I just hope we see the same effort, commitment and spirit as last night
Selles comes across to me as one of those managers who picks their team based on what happened in the previous game (subject to availability, eg injury). So maybe AMN might come back. And maybe Bednarek might not be available. But by and large, I'm not expecting many changes. Might have to prepare for Ely and Armnstrong starting again.
Edozie and Sulemana crossing it into TP with Alcaraz running in behind is what i have wanted to see since Jan. I think we have tried just about every other combination possible but this - and failed in almost all of them
I tend to be fairly confident that we will win these sort of home fixtures from about now until a few minutes before the game starts. I'm going to try and have the same thoughts I had pre arsenal instead this time and see If that works better. This is a real must win. Not like the other must wins we have had (and didnt)
I know it was really disappointing not to have taken all three points last night, but I'm enjoying the weekend without waiting for our result! Hate Monday night matches, and late Sunday KO's
Will Selles revert to AMN, now that he's seen the way Saints can play without him? Or will Selles consider that Maitland-Niles has to be on the team sheet, in order to shoehorn as many double-barrelled names onto the field as possible?
No reason to drop Theo for this Similar starting line up to Friday, with maybe tall Paul in for AA. Expect Bednarek to be fit to play.
I wondered if that was maybe why we didn't use our concussion substitute. Not sure if you can get around the rules that way.
