The £6.5m release clause is alleged for astori, they don't give a figure for ramirez, though I assume it is what we bought him for.

Fiorentina do, literally bought an entire new squad in the summer and are apparently finalising a €12m bid for Giuseppe Rossi at the moment. The stadiums are the single biggest problem in Italy at the moment.

Fiorentina are certainly on the way to the top. I don't think the Italian league is dying, I just think it's having a sort of revolution.

Way too early for any announcement yet! Must be into the last few days of the transfer window surely :P
Would be good to see the fee come down a bit so we wouldn't lose too much in the event we were relegated but these are the sort of signings that could make the difference!

There does seem to be a big change in the teams competing at the top, which is exciting for the neutrals at least. During that time as those teams emerge and become stronger and the former leaders get weaker I suppose the overall quality of the league would be effected as the change isn't perfectly balanced.

Juventus, Napoli and Fiorentina should be in for a bright future, and some up-and-coming teams with more secure finances in Serie B like Sassuolo and Hellas Verona will probably replace perennial strugglers like Cagliari and Palermo.

Southampton-Coutinho, the offer is there: http://www.calcionews24.com/esclusiva-southampton-coutinho-l-offerta-c-e-ma-il-giocatore-291481.html

"Southampton want to Philippe Coutinho. The English club has made an official offer to the leadership Inter: 10.5 million euro more bonus (about 1.5 million). Moratti is thinking about it, but according to rumors collected by the editors of Calcionews24.com, the player would not like the destination. In fact, the Saints sailing in deep waters and strive for salvation. The young Brazilian midfielder wants to stay in Italy, but so far with Stramaccioni the bench, also because of the many injuries, has found little space. However, in the coming days will be given a definitive answer to the English club."

Well I've got Cortese's phone number so I'm a day ahead of everyone. I've been sworn to secrecy though, on pain of a life time ban from St Mary's so I'm keeping my trap shut.

You'll be in trouble;e once he realises you're going to Skateland!

Whaaaaaaaaaat.

As Nicola and Nigel have been working on their 5 year plan, when we were promoted, I guess they had a back-up plan should we be relegated (which before the start of the season would have been say 50/50 and still is). Should the new superstars leave they would get their money back at least and of course they didn't sell Billy Sharp, Dean Hammond or Aaron Martin so they wouldn't need to panic buy a new Championship squad! Clever see.
