Third choice France goalkeeper Mickael Landreau has taken a payoff to "amicably" break his contract with Ligue 1 side Lille.

Could be a good shout for us imo

For me - that is a huge NO.

Why - wages are likely to be too high; if you have watched Qatar football (I have) - you will know the standard of football is Blue Square League standard (on a good day) and not sure he can step up to the EPL now; we need defenders/goalkeeper not wingers; he is too old for a young progressive team like us so 'the fit' is all wrong. I could go on, but have better things to write about than Abdul Keita.
 
I appreciate that newspapers are generally full of **** but would be happy to get Scott Dann to strengthen our defensive line up. Good player
Hopper? Not so sure. We play generally with one up top and that is Sir Rickie, could see benefit if we go 4-4-2

Hooper makes sense in exactly one circumstance...if Rickie gets poached in January. As that doesn't strike me as terribly likely, striker seems the least of our worries.
 
to be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if the rumours about Danny are true certainly one of the players we'll be looking at.
 
So, if we had a £8m bid rejected in the summer, how much is he worth now? His price can only have gone up. Seems a tired bit of gossip from the mirror if you ask me. And as fran says, last 16 of the champions league, well thats hardly an incentive to leave is it.
 
I had a dream last night that we signed Falcao in January! That seems to have about as much reason to be reported as some of the newspaper articles above.

So on that basis....Wer're gonna win the League!
 
I like Adkins answer to a reporter who asked him,' How do you convince someone that joining Saints is a better option than say a mid-table side like Swansea?'
Adkins: 'If they need a lot of convincing, they are not the player for us.'
 
With Hooper I get the impression that we went for him in the Summer, Celtic wanted too much, so we moved on and got Jay Rod instead. Can't see us being back in for him in January although I would certainly welcome him in the future. It's an easy transfer rumour to write really isn't it.
