Rasmus Ankersen stepped down from his DoF role at Brentford this year to start a Sports Investment firm (source). It appears that firm, Sports Republic, are to be our new owners, back by Serbian Billionaire Dragan Solak: https://suite.endole.co.uk/insight/company/13789278-sport-republic-holding-ltd?page=overview
At least we have a man with football knowledge in charge now. What ever happens I’m sure they’ll invest more than GAO ever did, but that won’t be hard.
Very exciting... Keep our Current Regime in charge... Mix it all together... This is just the tonic potentially we needed.
I know nothing about him or the reported deal or anything like that, literally just the headline. It would just be exciting to enter transfer windows without thinking the only way we can make any signings is if we sell first, and then we have to spread that money as far as it will go. Really, we've done remarkably well with the restrictions we've been working with. Hopefully we can maintain a similar structure within the club that seems to be working so well, just with some actual financial backing. That's the dream! Cautiously optimistic that this is what we've been waiting for for years.
We don't need massive investment like Newcastle. We just need decent investment in the squad and I think Ralph could really take us back to where we were under Poch/Koeman. And unlike them he takes the cups seriously so a trophy can't be ruled out.
Rasmus Ankersen utilised the moneyball strategy at both Brentford & fc midtjylland, I wonder if we will go down that route
