I am compiling a list of Saints players past and present who have scored in international tournements. This includes, The World Cup, European Championships, Africa Cup of Nations, Copa America, CONCACAF Gold Cup, Asian Cup of Nations and OFC Nations Cup. To make the list, the player didn't necessarily have to have been at Southampton at the time of scoring. However, they must have been a Southampton player at some point during their career.

So far the players I have are:

Alan Shearer - 5 goals in Euro 96, 2 goals in World Cup 98 and 2 goals in Euro 2000

Agustin Delgado - 2 goals in Copa America 2001, 1 goal in World Cup 2002, 2 goals in Copa America 2004 and 2 goals in World Cup 2006

Joe Jordan - 2 goals in World Cup 74, 1 goal in World Cup 78 and 1 goal in World Cup 82

Henri Camara - 2 goals in Africa Cup of Nations 2006 and 1 goal in Africa Cup of Nations 2008

Dan Petrescu - 1 goal in World Cup 94 and 1 goal in World Cup 98

Ricardo Fuller - 2 goals in CONCACAF Gold Cup 2005

Stern John - 1 goal in CONCACAF Gold Cup 1998 and 1 goal in CONCACAF Gold Cup 2002

Colin Clarke - 1 goal in World Cup 86

Mark Wright - 1 goal in World Cup 90

Anders Svensson - 1 goal in World Cup 2002

Peter Crouch - 1 goal in World Cup 2006

Radhi Jaidi - 1 goal in World Cup 2006

Youssef Safri - 1 goal in Africa Cup of Nations 2004

Can anybody help me with any others?

Also as a little added fact. Did you know that Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur both have the claim for being the only two clubs in English Football to have had a World Cup winning manager play for them?
    His name.. Sir Alf Ramsey.

I was going to say Kevin Keegan without even checking, but apparently he only ever played 28 minutes of a World Cup match and England barely featured at the Euros back then either

Sorry, Johnathan Forte and Mick Mills have never scored an international goal. Chris Nicholl, Dave Watson and Alan Ball have, but never in an international tournement.

Jim McCalliog scored the winner against then world champs England in 1967, thereby confirming Scotland as official World Champions !
(he also scored the winner v Bradford in the quarters in 1976 for Saints when we won the cup, if I recall correctly).

Yep, was late in the day when we were struggling to make the break through (he scored around about the 80th minute, before Gerrard then added another one to make it 2-0).

Crouch's goal shouldn't have counted though, as he was climbing all over the Trinadad defender (despite his obvious height!).

Struggling to think of any more possibilities. I think Connolly went to WC 2002, but I can't recall him ever scoring. Not sure if McCann even went to WC 1998 or not, but I certainly don't recall him ever scoring. Bridge and M Svensson are no's. Doubt very much that Claus scored at WC 1998, but did Egil maybe do so?

Hughes would be a no, due to Wales' ineptitude. Slight before my time, but did David Hirst go to Euro 1992? And if so, did he score? Likewise, did Redknapp score at Euro 1996?

Oh, um, what about Scott McDonald? Can't be that hard to score for Australia.

I don't think any of these players have scored in an international tournement.
The closest David Connolly came to finding the back of the net was a missed a penalty in a shoot-out against Spain.
As for Scott McDonald, he has never scored a goal for Australia despite making 25 appearances!

    So in conclusion:

Alan Shearer is the former Saint with the most goals in international tournements with a total of 9. He is also the former Saint with the most goals in one tournement, scoring 5 in Euro 96.

Agustin Delgado is a close second with 7 goals from international tournements. He is also credited with being the first player to score in a World Cup whilst actually being at Saints in 2002.

Aswell as Delgado, Anders Svensson is the only other player to have scored in a World Cup whilst playing at St Marys. It was the same World Cup as the Ecuadorian.

Alan Shearer, Peter Crouch and Mark Wright are the only three players to have played for Southampton that have scored for England in an international tournement.

Joe Jordan is the only former Saints player to have scored in 3 consectutive World Cups.

Henri Camara and Youssef Safri are the only former Saints players to have scored in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ricardo Fuller and Stern John are the only former Saints players to have scored in The CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Radhi Jaidi is the only player currently at Southampton to have scored in an international tournement. He scored for Tunisia in the 2006 World Cup.
