Glad to hear it got some recognition...was amazed we had no coverage for the initiative. Had a chip on my shoulder about it....PL players go out selling the Big Issue and not a word in the media.
A very simple but brilliant idea, initiated as I understand by the saints foundation. It's really good to see football give something back and for the players to get involved. Not sure why this wasn't mentioned at the top of MOTD when they covered the saints game rather that later on in the program. All good though. COYR
I must have been in the kitchen making coffee or something. Missed it entirely. When was it featured.?
They usually only show the community stuff on the morning addition of MOTD. Think RAWMOK may have been trying to act cool, by saying he watched it late last night, when in reality he was already asleep
In my experience , you can tell the genuine sellers , all seem really decent . There is one woman in Wimborne Dorset , who does my bloody nut . I have seen her driving , using a mobile and trying to sell the big issue in Lymington .
She should be reported to The Big Issue then, because she could be taking the space of someone genuinely in need. Reminds of when I used to lend money via Kiva to poor people in various countries to help them set up/continue businesses. I stopped supporting Kiva when their definition of poor included Americans who couldn't afford to upgrade their laptops. My understanding of poor - and how Kiva had started - was people who couldn't afford the basics not that they couldn't get the latest hardware, which is why I now support Deki and Lendwithcare. Sorry, bit of a digression but this kind of "cheating" winds me up.
Could not agree more H , but I have NEVER seen her sell a single copy , so not to fussed , I think people see her for what she is !
Absolutely right. Lol. Assumed it was an exact repeat of last night. It was tucked in the middle of the program, after the WBA game I think.
I had recorded last night's programme, but only watched the Saints bit. I whizzed through it twice trying to find it....thanks to you!
Ah Fran, sorry, it was a good piece too, the guys out in Winchester mixing with shoppers, signing programs. Assumed it was just a rerun of Saturday night. Did you notice that watching Burnley on x12 fast forward is like watching other teams at normal speed.
