So my question to you is 10m euros, will we pay it? Would you? (10m euro is £7.6m)

I'd really like to have a new RM but the price seems a bit much. Unless money is no object, I'd rather see some of that money used for a new CB.

Would rather see it spent on a CB.

We offered 6, they want 10. Let´s split the difference and make it 8. I´m sure Cortese knows how to haggle.

Or just wait a couple of weeks and £4.7m and €10m might be bit closer together anyway.

Don't tink it's a straight choice. Nigel knows we need a CB and we'll endeavour to sign one regardless of our other signings. I've never seen this lad play, so wouldn't know if he's worth it or not.

Maybe not a straight price but surely related? If we spend £8m on a winger surely the allowance for a CB is lowered?

Unless we really are willing to splash the cash.

I like the look of lens and I think he's exactly what we need in our team. Pace, direct running and importantly a final ball. People seem to forget that £7m isn't really that much in the premier league especially for a player with obvious quality. I agree that I'd rather us spend that money on a CB but to get this calibre of player we need to spend this kind of money. We've been lucky with previous signings at seemingly such cheap prices; lambert, cork, clyne and co but now it is time to really kick on and surprise people.

There are a lot of assumptions being made about Lens on here.

We won't pay over the odds...

I just want us to get a CB, much more important now!

A young, exciting Dutch international winger, currently on the books of PSV. Of course he's gonna be priced that high. Starting low is a classic haggling strategy. We''ll offer more if he's good enough, and I'll be pleased if we do. Can't criticise the board for not being ambitious.

Definitely worth £7.6million. Could prove to be the difference between survival and solid mid table. It shows ambition (even more than we've already shown!) we brought Jay Rodriguez for £6-7million so I really can't see any problem with that price.. Cortese probably will have though.

If we're looking at PSV, why not go for a more esteemed player like Wijnaldum or Mertens?

(just to note I'm not slagging off Lens, drama queens, I'm just saying)

Probably because Mertens would cost **** loads and is being looked at by clubs like Liverpool.

Haha. But I highly doubt he'd come to us. Belgian international - highly rated by Europe's top clubs. There would be a host of clubs ahead of us in the queue to sign him, and he'd chose them over us.
