Just searching through the web for information on the youth players and came across this portuguese website that states we've got an academy in guinea-bissau. So just wandering whether anyone knew of this as I can't remember ever seeing anything about this in the past. http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...AYW&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&prmd=ivnso
We don't have an academy there, just one of the youngsters signed on a few months ago is from Guinea-Bissau (Portuguese based) - Alberto Seidi.
Do we still have the academy centre near Bristol? Seem to remember that's where Gareth Bale and Nathan Dyer were discovered and signed before they came to the main academy set up.
The Times mentioned a satellite academy (possibly Bristol) that Saints had set up to give them a wider catchment area. As the journalist put it, half our catchment area is in the sea!
This Seidi lad is 18 and born 1n 1992, so won't be a part of the U18s. He must be pretty good though because no-one would come all the way from Portugal to play in our reserves.
I don't think it is likely and if we did it would be rather pointless as none of the players would be eligible for a work permit as Guinea Bissau are ranked too low in the IFFA rankings.
