I saw Swansea at Minneapolis airport last summer after playing at the National Sports Center - where I was refereeing. Please go there Saints. :)

Good - I really feel that the U.S. is a massively untapped football resource. If we can get ourselves a following over there it would be great.

Oh I may push hard for a US trip to HQ if that happens.

Yup. Would be a smart move and in line with Kruger's marketability campaign. Japan because of their fanatical curiosity/support and the Yoshida link. The US is an emerging market that love a Cinderella story- what we just need is to recruit a Yank keeper to strengthen the connection. Oh, wait a minute...

With our nickname and playing at St Mary's,a trip to the Bible Belt cities
We could do with a few prayers at the moment in order to score

Who went to the US this year? Man Utd and Liverpool. Who had bad starts to the season?

I can see the point in terms of fan base and revenue but I've always thought it was a crazy schedule immediately prior to the hectic start to the season.

There's no link between going to the States and your start to the season. Swansea also went to the US and beat United first game of the season.

That's what I thought. Our usual preseason is to get us fit and ready for the coming season, but I suppose now was are big time we have to do promotion tours to our million fans abroad (cough). This would be a part of the attempt to increase the commercial side. However, Krueger does insert some fudge words....only if Koeman considers a good idea for the team...in other words it may not happen, but I'll just put it out there, raise it up the flagpole and see who salutes (see, I can do business-speak as well, even if a bit dated :)).

Take your point LFF, but this can really be only about focus and attitude, or just sheer coincidence. SFC is growing and it needs to get the name out there. We want to keep the cosy and lose the little, in cosy little south-coast football club.

I think Lff meant more about the right pre-season preparation (i.e. - not too much travelling too close to the start) rather than the US specifically ... it could have been travelling to China. If we go, we should go early.

With Yoshida making regular appearances for Saints and Japan, it might be good to capitalise. Where is Tandanari Lee playing these days?

Surprised you're still employed if you took him/her to the West Ham game.

It was 0-0, an idiot ran on the pitch, there was a scuffle/punch up three seats from us and I lost my rag with the ref.... yes, I am surprised too.

He has only ever been to two games: the Saints one and about ten years ago he saw Milan V Porto .... that was 0-0

    He won't be invited again.
