Some of you may find this interesting: Electronic Advertising Boards New Big Screens Sponsorship chances and more Nice little read on how Cortese is selling the vision: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/staticFiles/88/b4/0,,10280~177288,00.pdf Great picture of fans on the pitch, despite the 'party line' being "keep off the pitch" they do like to play on it. Also, what was all that about Cortese renaming the suites a while back or changing the name of the Matt Le Tissier suite? That booklet still calls it the "Matt Le Tissier Suite". It's not cheap is it!! £18k to sponsor injury time during the season - £15k for substitutions etc. DTLW
Sounds a fair amount, I wonder how that compares with other clubs. Of course they do. They have to tell people not to though as strictly speaking it's a criminal offence.
The SFC image has completely changed from a plucky-club-that-punches-above-its-weight to one of confidence, success and great expectation, in a matter of a few seasons. Can the fans ambitions, for the club they support, keep pace with the club's own..? At present the club are way out in front. Never known a situation like this before.
Interesting comment that TSS. The club certainly appear to be driving ahead with their ambitions on and off the field. I for one was blown away by last season and really didn't see it coming. I have no idea what to expect this season. I know that Cortese wanted to win the title last year and that was his goal from the start ... wonder what his goal this year is?
What I find surprising is that many fans are not fully realising what kind of football club resides in Britannia Road these days. All the noises, whether planned or unplanned that emerge from SFC speak loudly of a club that is placing itself in the fast lane for success. The current favourite players, for example, are mere stepping stones, towards a charge up the league, and when Cortese says Saints will never be relegated while he is at the helm, he won't take a chance on it. So, if you're a gambler, I believe you'll be able to put your house on it, because it won't happen with Saints deliberately planning to be at the other end of the table. I doubt if survival is mentioned in plans at ManU, and I doubt if it is at St Marys either. They casting their ambitions far higher. You should be aware of these things FLT, as you were lucky enough to speak with the Man, and got an impression of his ambition and determination. All we all need to do is go through our own change, and stop being old Saints fans and start being new Saints fans.
