My bad forgot to paste the link ? http://blog.squawka.com/2013/04/12/stoke-villa-have-worst-disciplinary-record-in-premier-league-southampton-and-arsenal-have-the-best/201304127199
How do you get the article up? Have put the whole link in....blinking tedious...and bits of it, but internet having none of it.
You're not missing much, there are some mystifyingly complex charts, and one nice paragraph about us at the end: "Finally, the champions of the Premier League discipline table, for me, are Southampton, having picked up only 35 yellow cards. Their brand of football has certainly impressed many critics and pundits throughout the course of the season and they can be extremely proud – mid table, great discipline and great football."
It's probably based on http://espnfc.com/stats/fairplay/_/league/eng.1/barclays-premier-league?cc=5739#
Sadly, the Europa place is decided by the Fair Play League rather than the disciplinary league. We are fifth on the FPL, because apparently we are nasty to officials and the other team.
For me, not sadly this year. I'd like us to have a good preseason under Pochettino, with any signings he wants in by 1st August (I wish) and we are then up and ready to go at them next season. Four straights wins and top by September. A mid season wobble where we only sneak league cup wins and then back on it by end of November to finish 8th and win the league cup! Then the Europa league
I agree...Europa Cup is a distraction that can cost league points. I also think that we will still be putting out 'weaker' sides for the domestic cups, which is a shame as we are just the kind of side to do well in those.
Agree with the above - we're not ready for Eurpean football yet. Let's not run before we can walk! We need a bigger squad. At the moment we have probably around 16 or 17 players who are good enough for a team both in the PL and in Europe. We need to up that to over 20 really before we get into Europe. Newcastle really struggled with injuries in October/November time and it's really taken its toll on their PL season. We do not want that to happen to us.
Or we could sing: "Premier League, piece of piss". I guess we could sing that today if we are winning comfortably.
