they can have him at that price...strangely enough my uncles family are involved with burnley....next time i see them he'll give us an opinion on whether he's good enough or not....
£7m! Ouch, that's far too much in my opinion. The Saints will have strikers coming out of the earholes the way they're going.
DJR, points taken. But he's quick as hell and could improve his strike rate with better service than he ever got at Watford. Also, Bolton may be looking to cut their losses so could cost less than the £4m they paid. And Malky knows what he can do.
£7 million for a Championship player is a bit steep. Having said that Soton know all about inflated transfer fees, usually they're selling to the Arsenal or Spurs BFB, are you talking about Sordell?
he's the sort of player who could appreciate in value and get them out of the division. its the petrov's, jaaskelainens, dead wood on big money that are usually the first to go if a team gets relegated..... worth enquiring about defo.....
Going on the provisio that Sordell will score more goals with us because our service to the strikers is better than Watfords is pure nonsense, our strikers were feeding off scraps for the most part of last season due to no service, it would be nice to have a striker in the mould of Rodriguez however i have to say, would we ever have had a chance with so many premiership clubs after the boy... NO. I would look no further than Southampton and take their left overs, i dont think Lambert will get a look in next year, and another player i wouldnt mind seeing at our place is Adam Le Fondre. Sordell is a non starter and would be a disappointing aquisition in my humble opinion.
Fair point Isaw however using your principle Le Fondre is in the same mould although not as quick. Having seen him for Reading he needs the ball put in front of him - which they achieved once they got Jason Roberts in the team. before Roberts he was poor. Now there's a point, have Reading signed him full time or has he gone back up north after his loan ended? He would certainly do the job for us. Having had such a great season Lambert will certainly be given a chance at Saints as they will hope he will have the same impact as Grant Holt at Reading. Should he not perform then he would certainly be worth looking at although that opportunity may not come until the January window when others will also be looking at him. Anyway, all speculation. Looks like we bid for Rodrigues so have cash available. I'm sure Malky will have a secondary target whether that be Uk or foreign based.
Lambert will be the first name on Saints team sheet next year. Where this signing (if it happens) leaves Sharpe is another matter.
Looks like there is an option on the radar. Saying that we'll probably linked with anyone and everyone over the next few weeks. But another young striker Mackay has been keeping tabs on, Bjorn Sigurdarson, is said to be keen on a move to English football. The 21-year-old Icelandic international has netted 11 goals in 13 games for Lillestrom in Norway this season “There are a number of clubs looking at Bjorn closely and we are waiting to see what happens,” said Sigurdarson’s agent Jerry de Koning. “I know Everton, Wolves, Reading and Cardiff have all been to watch Bjorn and there is also interest from Germany so we will see what is best for him. “We would want a move to be done as soon as possible so that Bjorn can have pre-season with his new club and I would expect something to happen by July. “Bjorn would like to play in England.” Read More http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...r-richard-keogh-91466-31072804/#ixzz1wLnQi5xN
ccfc I saw that a few days ago but couldn't remember his name when I made the above posts - hence my reference to "foreign based". Perhaps Gunnar can have a word for us?
