Says this Pompey blogger.... http://portus-eg.blogspot.co.uk/ ....really? Hmmm... okay. Very odd. Who does his blog appeal to? It's not intelligent or particularly interesting? Do Pompey fans find that blog good reading?
Sounds like an arrogant self opinionated idiot, normal down that end of the M27 it seems. Not at all like our tame Skate 606ers on here.
Mancini never taps his watch while looking at the officials. Fergie did it again on Sunday. It was his usual signal of... make sure you add on enough time for us to score. Most of the time the officials do as they're told, sometime they don't. Hence the expression, ManU never lose a game, they just sometimes run out of time.
I just go with "allowance for all time lost in either period through substitutions, assessment of injury to players, removal of injured players from the field of play for treatment, wasting time or any other cause"
That's utterly ludicrous. The MALI group is worth billions, saints are tiny compared with that. It would be like Michael Appleton robbing a toddler's pocket money to fund new player acquisitions.
and what Mr Ferguson deems necessary to score a goal and not allow the opposition team enough time to counter.
The Mali group are massive and at the moment we are taking rather than making money. If we end up making a lot of money we will will be very successful, so bring it on. My only concern is that Cortese may be spreading himself a bit thin, but if he has a good team in each business that can be coped with. Chief execs do it all the time. Shows how trusted he is. What we must remember is that the Leihberrs can't rob us as they actually own us.
They can't rob us but they could draw the money from the club through dividends and/or management charges meaning the money isn't reinvested in to players, etc. Seems unlikely at the moment as surely the underlying value and cash generating potential of the club will be much higher if they can turn us in to an established club. So what he is saying is not impossible but very unlikely, in my opinion anyway.
Even if they withdraw money (which they are entitled to do), I'm sure enough will be reinvested to maintain us as a PL side. After all, they are used to running businesses and it makes no sense to run a decent business into the ground. Especially one in which you've invested money. I know that in retail a new store in a chain starts with a debt representing the cost of building and start-up costs. The store is not considered to make money until that debt is repaid. We are no different. A football team is important to fans and the area (something mentioned when Markus took over), but is basically a business. We are in safe hands...the worst that could happen is that we are sold to someone else as a going concern with good facilities...there is nothing we can do about that. I think too much is being read into the fact that Cortese is a trusted and skilful executive who has been entrusted with other businesses. Pompey fans should be so lucky.
How do you know he has even been given these other director roles? If the only source for that is this blog I'd suggest it probably isn't true.
I agree with you, it's very unlikely that a Swiss business would be run into the ground by greedy owners. The MALI group (and, by extension, SFC) are still basically owned by the Liebherr family. I see no reason why they will not subscribe to the normal Swiss/German model of running family business' with the aim of long term stability rather than short term profit. And as somebody else said, if MALI really wanted to cash in on SFC, a selling a well run premiership club to somebody else is likely to generate greater returns than asset stripping (which, as Portsmouth and Balram Chainrai are finding out, doesn't create much of a return).
Whats all this about? Don't tell me they have been pinching the little kiddies pocket money now. I wouldn't put it past them for they're a club with no shame.
