Fran ... I have a standard Kelvin for all teams :)

TheSecondStain ... I needed to be able to distinguish him quickly from the others when attacking ;-)

    Thanks for the comments :)

As it happens, I sold my Subbuteo in NZ in 1991. Got good money for it too, even in the premier egg chasing country. At 29, I couldn't find a reason to get the the whole lot out of the box to play for both sides. I mean, let's face it - the only bloke who would play me was the one who bought it off me, and he lived in bloody Invercargill.

National Championships attracted about 60 players in England, but the game is massive in europe. A recent tournament in Bologna set up 55 tables and welcomed about 250 competitors. More of a social gig for me, but don't go home about a hundred pound light, or suffer with a hangover the next day. The perfect footy mad gathering for the married man, IMHO :)

Old HW team recently sold for £620 on ebay! Shocking amount of money for a really crap team!

    Oh Essgee!!

I move house tomorrow (Thursday) and have already negotiated with the wife that the subbuteo is going up in the dining/play room. I told you before that my ten year old has it up in his room. He has last season's Sash kit; I'll try and post a photo later. I have just got my mate and his boys into it too.

I emptied the loft at the weekend and the boxes and boxes of subbuteo that were in there.

I remember that you live on the A34 somehere. We should meet up. Do you get to many games , as I could pick you up on my way through?

    Flick to kick!

Will definitely have to hook up. Will PM you tonight.
Great news, that you have managed to steer your kids away from the computer screens to discover THE BEAUTIFUL GAME :)

I believe the Subbuteo name has been bought by an Italian, so we may even start to see some of the top quality merchandise available on the net, soon available in the shops again. My lad ( 7 ) and his friends already prefer it to computer games, which is refreshing :)
