http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2858210,00.html "As the start of the 2012/13 Premier League season fast approaches, Saints would like to make the following announcement regarding the purchasing and distribution of match tickets. The Club is putting in place a points based loyalty scheme to ensure that tickets for the higher demand games, both home and away, are distributed in a fair and equitable manner. Away matches will be categorised on a like for like basis to our home fixtures. Category A games earn 10 points, Category B games 15 points and Category C games 20 points. The points earned for attending Cup matches will be announced when ticketing arrangements for these games are finalised with the respective clubs. Season Ticket Holders will automatically earn points according to the advertised match categories for home games as soon as tickets for the match go on sale. A Season Ticket Holder will therefore automatically earn 295 points across the season (50 for 5 x Cat A, 105 for 7 x Cat B and 140 for 7 x Cat C ) During the season, the Club will announce the priority booking arrangements for Season Ticket Holders and supporters who hold a specific number of points for matches where demand for tickets will exceed the number on sale. The way in which tickets are normally purchased is unaffected by this scheme and please make sure that when buying tickets for all games, either home and away, you do so under your individual Client ID number. Details of how to check your points balance will be announced shortly. As highlighted in our original Season Ticket announcement, there will be a priority sales period for Season Ticket Holders, and anyone attending the opening match of the season will receive 10 Loyalty Points in their account. Full ticket details for the opening Premier League Fixtures versus Manchester City (away), Wigan (home), Manchester Utd (home) and Arsenal (away) will be announced shortly. Please check www.saintsfc.co.uk for full details."
Fair enough, but a bit annoying seemingly no consideration is given to fans who trekked up to places like Hartlepool and Rochdale a couple of years back.
Well, better late than never!... Loyalty is finally being rewarded and we won´t be seeing many plastic fans any more.
What I don't get is: Man United Home is 2nd home game of season. So... if we all start on 0 (except those with Season Tickets) - it means people who purchased for Wigan at home or City away (which will probably sell out to STH's) will get first option on these tickets, before it goes to a massive scrum between everyone else? Right.
Yep, I imagine so. City away will, as you say, be sold out to STH´s before it goes on general sell, so the people who aren´t STH´s and want to watch the Man U match will need to go to the Wigan game to have any chance of getting a ticket. I imagine that the wigan game will be sold out and all the people that go to that match will go to the Man U game too. The away allocations will almost always be sold out before it goes on general sell so the only way people who don´t have ST´s will be able to get loyalty points will be to attend home and cup matches.
Unfortunately it's going to be impossible to keep 50,000+ people happy with a 28,000 home seat stadium. If you haven't got a season ticket and want to go to a few games then it might be a good idea to find a new best mate who has. Other than that I'm afraid there are going to be a lot of disappointed people this season.
It is a shame that they cannot take into account the loyalty fans have built up over the years. It is sadly for some a new system so it does mean we are all going to have to start again.......There are going to be some who will lose out in the near future but gain a whole lot in the not too distant future........The fact that you have top grade matchs so close to the opening of the season is unfortunately the way the cookie has crumbled....
We should be rewarded for sticking through the club through all the **** we went through Where is our reward? Oh yeah, it's the plastic returning fans who start on EVEN KEEL with us loyal fans - ****ing pathetic
Looks pretty bleak for us long distance non-season ticket holders isn't it? Usually do half a dozen home games and ten away games a season but this allocation situation means my chances are slim to bog all! When is NC going to extend SMS?
Dark lord how is extending SMS going to help you get tickets for away games? Surely it would hinder it?
Same here mate. I do 8-14 a season. Living in Essex means I travel 3.5 hours to a game as it is! Oh well. I'll go whoever we are playing so my first game may be Fulham at home.
Don't see why people are crying over this - if you stay "loyal" now then your ivory tower of superfandom will soon be restored.
Your reward is a price hike and a big **** off from the club. You are deluded if you think any club cares about fans. It only cares about fans when they have empty seats to fill or there is a bucket going round. And never forget you are nothing more than a cash cow to be mercilessly milked until you're dry.
I know they don't care about fans - as you say, they just milk you dry but I exercise my right to moan
Why should they care about fans? We're customers, the club is a business. You don't see Tesco going "we're nice so you can all have your shopping for free today".
