Very simple. Just wondering everyones opinion on how you thought the team did today. Here's mine. Starting 11: Davis - 7 Butterfield - 6 Fonte - 7.5 Jaidi - 8 Harding - 8 Oxlade-Chamberlain - 7 Hammond - 7 Chaplow - 7.5 Lallana - 8.5 Guly do Prado - 7 Lambert - 8 Subs: Gobern - 6.5 ( not enough time ) Schneiderlin - 8 Barnard - 9 (My Man of the Match) Your ratings? COYR!
Davis - 6.5, should have covered his near post when Pighill equalised Butterfield - 5, looked uncomfortable and was beaten for pace time and time again Fonte - 7 Jaidi - 8 Harding - 8 Oxlade-Chamberlain - 7 Hammond - 6.5 Chaplow - 6.5 Lallana - 8 Guly do Prado - 7 Lambert - 8 Subs: Gobern - 7, for the brief time he had, he showed great potential and could have had a goal Schneiderlin - 8 Barnard - 8
Davis - 6 Harding - 6 Jaidi - 8 Fonte - 7/8 Butters - 7 Lallana - 8 Hammond - 6 Chaplow - 6 (at most) Chambo - 7 Lambert - 8/9 Guly - 5 Barnard - 8/9 Spiderman - 8 Gobern - 7/8
Agree with all of the ratings RLGB except Guly who I think has really dipped in form IMHO and was a 4/5. How he missed that shot from 6 yards I don't know, Barnard was brilliant though!
Davis 6 Butterfield 6.5 Fonte 6.5 Jaidi 8 Harding 7.5 Chamberlain 7 Hammond 8 Chaplow 6 Lallana 8 Guly 6 Lambert 8.5 Barnard 8.5 Schneiderlin 8 Gobern 7
Davis 6 Butterfield 6.5 Fonte 7 Jaidi 8 Harding 6.5 Chamberlain 6.5 Hammond 6.5 Chaplow 6 Lallana 8 Guly 7 Lambert 9 M.O.M Barnard 8.5 Schneiderlin 7.5 Goberne 7 (above players for their time on the pitch) Davis once again caught out on his near side (definite weakness of his) Although would agree the referee should have stopped the game and award a foul on Lambert. However you could see what the game plan was for Swindon which was to hit us hard on the break. Which still is the achilles heal of Saints. Somebody asked me why we can never seem to do the same to other teams. We have quick enough players out there. I replied the majority of teams we play especially at St Mary's tend to be defensive so therefore it is rare the opportunity arises. When we do come up against teams that are prepared to go for it or get caught up field in an odd moment then it happens. The reality is, not often. First half was very scrappy and the first 5 minutes of the second then we suddenly woke up. Yes some of the substitutions did help however we had started to tighten the noose just as they were made. Their goalkeeper kept them in the game for a while although I think at times he was lucky. However you make your own luck in my view. Some harsh marginal decisions I thought kept the score down.
