Should that be the result on Saturday !!! Dread to think of the fans comments on here judging by some of the ones I've read on here after the Reading game,,,debate yes rip an individual to pieces No Am using this site less and less due to the ridiculous comments put on here by so called supporters,,have been saints fan for nearly 50 years now and this is probably the best time for just enjoying a game that saints play in EVER. So to you nit picking idiots get a life
And before anyone says no chance of that result ask any United fan wether they thought yesterdays result was possible. United 34 unbeaten at home on the trot
Buddy I am over here with you guys at present....I have only just been able to get on line....but hey and if I stay on for too long guess who will be in the dog house. In respect to you earlier comments.......you say you have been supporting saints for 50 years great stuff, as have I. You should know that there is always those that feel they should criticise Saints no matter how good they have played. The only difference is today the moaning is witnessed a lot more because of the wider audience. Having said that it is by far a very tiny majority and not what the vast majority of Saints feel even on here. Just let us not forget though that our forefathers gave their lives for the value of free speech no matter how disagreeable that free speech is!! I think you have to look at the wider picture perhaps and counter the constant bickerers. They are not going to think any different if people like you or I don't at least express our views too, surely. So not posting is not necessary going to help persuade a different view?
Too true. You had that drink yet..? And in saying that, I'm off up the wooden hill. After all, it's gone past 2am here.
Am all for people having there say but Just can't see the point in slagging of individuals,,especially the position we are in at present. As you are well aware it only takes a few idiots to tarnish something worthwhile ,,on a lighter note just found out had my 10th grandchild overnight back in UK so lots of love to my daughter and new grandson see you in November
Agree with you SaintinOZ and BT. Everyone is entitled to a opinion but perhaps some people should think a little longer and just straighten the picture on the wall rather than taking it down.
Awfully sorry that I sometimes have a different opinion to you. I wont dare to do so again. Tell me what I should say and then I wont offend your delicate feelings again.
I think 3 months ago we would all have been praising these players if they were playing at 75% of what they are and we were mid table. Problem being that this squad as a whole has been playing at 100% so far and people have already taken this as the level to judge them by. Now when a player puts in that 75% performance loads of people are instantly on their backs. Everyone has their off day and it is impossible for even the best players to play at that 100% level for every game. Maybe not even 3/4 of the game so give the lads a break and remember our expectations pre-season. We will lose games, we will see plenty of those 75% performances however if Saints are safe come the end of the season (which I now have no doubt we will be) then that will be great. If Saints are in the play offs at the end of the season we should all have a huge amount of pride in that achievement and the praise the squad as a whole. And if they do gain automatic promotion we will all be in Dreamland and should be singing the praises of the whole squad and not just those 'fans favourites'. The whole squad will have achieved it and some will have played a higher percentage of 100% games where others have had patchy form. They will all still have played a part. What I fear most is that we have all criticised teams like Man City and Chelsea for the past decade. We have all criticised the Premier League and its money ruining football however I am seeing more and more people going on about how rich Saints are, how we should be buying loads of players. I would hate us to turnover players like those high spending clubs buying names for the sake of it. I would rather Saints were a well grounded team (fans and the club together) and spent wisely rather than being glory chasers at any cost. So lets enjoy the ride. Lets be more realistic about where it may end then we can really enjoy it if we beat that expectation. We are one quarter of the way to achieving something even the most optimistic fans didn't expect and we should take that as an achievment of the whole squad. Rahter than singling players out for their bad form I am quite the opposite. The only thing I see is that when Lallana is not in the team we struggle. It shows how much he adds to the squad in terms of his play. It also shows how much of a lift he gives the other players. When he is on the pitch it raises all those other players performances and it may well be this factor that others are taking as players under performing. Maybe they are playing at their level. Maybe when Lallana is on the pitch they over perform. A rosy feeling inside them making them perform better. And there is no doubt that Lallana cannot play every game either through injury or tiredness so there will be many more periods where we are going to have to grind out a point or 3 amongst the goal fests that Lallana inspires. And let us not forget how we enjoyed the years of Saints at the top level. The good years and the relegation battles. We still enjoyed them we still celebrated single famous victories whilst battling against relegation. And like now when one of our players was missing back in those days we struggled. We all know who that was and we all know that with him like with Lallana now he gave every player a lift just by being on the pitch. Andy

We've a great bunch of players & an amazing leader. Good times.
It maddens me to read the unnecessary targeting of individuals. How many people on here do their job perfectly every minute of every working hour?
Last Tuesday night I sat a few rows back from my usual seat. According to the miserable old sods behind me, Kelvin can't kick, Ricky is old and fat and can't run, Jose can't trap a bag of cement, Connolly has been cr@p this season, and the whole team can't pass. The only time they sounded happy was when one of them pointed out that p*mpey were losing. The last straw came when one silly old fart asked me to "sit down please" when the whole row in front of me stood up. Some people only turn up every week to have a moan.
Just because we're doing well doesn't mean that A) people can't have a different opinion from you and B) there might still be some players that aren't performing or didn't perform in a particular match. For example Guly wasn't that great during the Reading game (apart from that assist )
Well, we could lose 6-1. But like the Utd/City fans, we would have to remember that it is just one game. Man City could draw to Wolves next week and all that hard work would be undone. On Saints, one thing I think you can say is that in either of our defeats we could have taken a point. Also, I don't think we will see many big signings because Nigel has been snapping up most of the squad on long contracts. Frankly if you like 8 new signings a season then you probably need to find a new club.
Come off it gooders.......his opinion is just a valid as yours, No reason for sarcasm. Whats up with you you moany old git!!
We can't all be nicey, nice and agree with each other all the time. My contrariness is born of a desire to encourage discussion and debate. The Forum was a place where people went to make decisions and to debate. They were sometimes argumentative and challeged each other and sometimes they resolved a dispute with a stabbing or a suicide. They didn't all go along and say now come along chaps and lets all be really nice to each other and lets all agree with one another. I am carrying on that great tradition of taking up a contrary position or playing devil's advocate in order to ensure that people verbalise their thoughts and are able to rationalise their arguments and hence their opinions.
I take it you weren't a regular on 606 in the past? Any bad/negative feeling on here is nothing compared to recent years. Even just last season, when we very unluckily lost away to Walsall, most posters seemed to ready to commite suicide. Adkins out, promotion over, we're not good enough, how on earth did we lose to that rubbish. If you think this is ridiculous, I dread think what you'd have called all the stuff in the past. Honestly, it's much much better now. I do think however that just because we're top of the Championship, everyone shouldn't automatically be 100% happy. We haven't won every game, let alone won every game 5-0, so things aren't completely perfect. There is justification for the odd negative comment. I'm completely and utterly ecstatic to be a Saints fan, and we're doing miles better than I could have ever dreamed of. But if a negative needs to be said, I'll say it.
St goodness your are more than welcome to air your views,,but like your sacasm aimed at me rather than a decent debate sums up your mentality ,if I remember correctly you were sarcastic to others on another thread because they didn't agree with you. Maybe you should set up your own site so you can just air your own views
Indeed however what I am suggesting (maybe I am far to realistic) is that a lot of these 'underpermances' are actually that player's standard and they have actually been 'overperforming' for many games. Therefore many have gotten used to a team of overperforming players which is great and they are just slowly coming back down to earth at this higher level. The momentum from last season may have given that 100% effect so far and it is starting to wane. There is no team in the world (including Barcelona) where the whole team performs at 100%. At best a 90% average with some players having good games, others not so good games. But it is the collective performance that matters not the individual ones. One player playing badly may make another player look like he is playing a blinder. The other player is having to do more and if he does it well then he looks superb. If the underperformer wasn't underperforming then that other player would not be doing that work and wouldn't look so good. Get what I mean? For example if Fonte plays badly and Hooiveld therefore has to work a little harder and does well. Hooiveld looks superb and that in turn makes Fonte look like he is playing even more badly. If they both play well then they neither stands out and people don't notice it. If A RB plays badly but the RW does a good covering job the RW looks outstanding and that in turn makes the RB look even worse. Saying that Chappers seems to get through a shed load of work so maybe he is having to make up for someone and therefore looking like a superstar But you get what I mean. Everyone can have a bad game and that in turn means others have a really good game because they making up the difference. As long as it isn't the same people having the off games each week and the others making up for it then it isn't a problem. I see no problem personally other than without Lallana we struggle. We don't have another player that can do what he does for us and we shouldn't try to play the same way without him. We should be grinding without him and attacking like mad with him. I would also suggest if Lallana is not there we need Schneiderlin in there to control the pace of the game. With Lallana we can go blood and thunder because he will take 2 player out of the game and make space for others. Without him we need to slow thing down, and control things more.
