He was linked with Wolves in the January transfer window but they didn’t manage it. Presumably higher on their list than Che Adams
From what I’ve read his main aspect of play is with his back to goal. So his goal record isn’t guaranteed to be stellar then
People really need to get their heads around the idea that we simply aren’t going to be signing a striker with a stellar goal record. When we did he turned out to be quickly deemed to useless and surplus to requirements and we are struggling to shift him with only one club interested
Strikers with established goal records cost an awful lot and we don’t pay that. When we have we have been burnt badly. Pretty much every time. Apart from when gambling on a player coming back from a serious injury. And our fans were furious with that deal from what I remember - mainly the mandatory purchase element after the loan

A back to goal striker is exactly what we need.
From what I can see from this video is that he seems comfortable with both his right and left foot.

Only in 4-3-3 though. Because if we play this guy as one of the two in a 5-3-2 then who is he really brining in to shoot? Assuming current midfield at least where there is no oneYeah. Weirdly we don’t actually need a mega scorer. We need someone who can bring goalscoring wide players/wingers into play. A bit like Che, tbh.

Can we just kill 5 at the back now? Makes Russball even more tedious…Only in 4-3-3 though. Because if we play this guy as one of the two in a 5-3-2 then who is he really brining in to shoot? Assuming current midfield at least where there is no one
I guess I’m hoping there is a reason both him and Che were on the list for Wolves and that he seemed higher. What isn’t clear is why they haven’t gone back. Have Wolves signed someone else ?
I’d be intrigued if the SR network of clubs end up with this guy, another midfielder previously wanted by Wolves, a very promising Portuguese central midfielder and two Brazilian youngsters for development. Would make me wonder if Wolves had fallen out with their arrangement or something
This is the point many keep trying to make. And consider Nketiah had far better supply from the rest of the team than he’d get hear and at PalaceWhen Nketiah goes to Palace for £30 million, a player thats scored less PL goals then Che Adams, you just have to look elsewhere. Hopefully this is the right place![]()

I hope so. But I do worry about Bednarek as one of two CBs in the premier league. He struggled with us before and I hope that was down to Ralph’s style of play but I’m not sure. Can we just kill 5 at the back now? Makes Russball even more tedious…
I thought he was our best CB over the first two matches. I am more worried about THB’s dodgy start to the season.I hope so. But I do worry about Bednarek as one of two CBs in the premier league. He struggled with us before and I hope that was down to Ralph’s style of play but I’m not sure.
I don’t think so. I thought we settled on Aribo, Smallbone and Downes (or Stu in for one of the others pre injury). Fraser was LWB which you might be counting as one of the attacking three when really it was Armstrong and one other.Back 3 doesn't have to be a 3-5-2 though. Playing 3 CMs was a huge part of the problem on Saturday.
3-4-3 is more what we played at the end of last season wasn't it?
Yeah, what we played last season was much better, but I just don’t think prem teams will let us play it!Back 3 doesn't have to be a 3-5-2 though. Playing 3 CMs was a huge part of the problem on Saturday.
