In your opinion would he be a good loan if the other midfield options fail to materialise? (Assuming he would be surplus to Chelsea’s requirements!)Yeah, he's looked really sharp by all accounts.

Damn. Always felt slightly out of reach this one!Sky reporting that Brighton have made a move for Matt O'Riley now
Yep, and I wonder/suspect that this is why we very quietly made a first bid for Fabio Carvalho (until someone, presumably at LFC given the journalist's track record, blurted it to David Ornstein)I've been concerned about this being a repeat of the Gakpo saga. So losing out on him now would be far better than in three weeks time.

Well if our original offer was worth £15m all-in, then we're £10m away. Perhaps they meet somewhere around £20m or just over (which is a price point we have been willing to reach previously)They seem to be continuing to blurt as reports now say Liverpool want £25m for him, don’t think we will get too close to that. Although we have clearly liked Carvalho for a long time
It annoys me how Liverpool always get loads of money for their rejects. It’s like because players have been associated with Liverpool that instantly adds £10m on. Don’t personally think he’s done enough to be worth more than £15m at this point in his career.
Why are you calling him a reject?
For Carvalho? Liverpool clearly don't regard him as a reject - hence the high asking price. It annoys me how Liverpool always get loads of money for their rejects. Yeah, couple of mates who still work at Arsenal say he was the best player on the pitch when they faced LFC in PhillyHe's been playing really well pre-season too. Slot clearly likes him.
Liverpool bought him, rarely played him, loaned him out and will likely sell him.
