Oh I don’t disagree. But there is a school of thought that if we spent the same but only on players 25m+ (so fewer in a quality over quantity sense) that we’d be better off. I don’t think that was meant for this summer. More when we already had a premier league squad in theory and needed to make clear improvements

I can’t say I can think of who we could have got instead of Archer for 25-30m who would want to join and fit our wage structure. I did start making a list the day before archer signed. I stopped because I had added commentary notes and next to archer I had written “not possible”. I guess it technically wasn’t from Sheffield United at least

The conclusion I was coming to was that we didn’t really have a chance with the others. They were a mix of players who either joined much bigger clubs and/or were pretty obviously moving within one country and likely not interested in moving to a different nation to play in.

Few rumours of being linked with Arnaud Kalimuendo, 22 year old French striker currently at Stade Rennais. Part of the recent French Olympic squad.
Can’t see this happening as would think we need to get rid of a few players as squad is looking a bit bloated at the moment especially in midfield and our net spend is around £60 million before the possible signing of the Dutch GK.

Will be less when we Sell Alcaraz, And get some sort of fee for Charles on loan.

Still feels like we need to move on some players either permanently or on loan:

Lis
Alcaraz
Charles
Larios
ABK
Onuachu
Sulemana (especially if a new attacker is coming in)

If Hugo comes into our first team squad that will likely limit the opportunities for Dibling. We shall see
 
You guys have to make to most of these puns up until we find out the correct pronunciation of his name! which I expect is not really close to how it is spelt !
