    Very, very happy.

Will be a great addition to the squad.

As things stand my first team would be

    ------------------Reina--------------------
    Johnson---Skrtel--------Agger-----Ricky
    ------------------Lucas--------------------
    ---------Allen--------------Sahin----------
    -----------------Gerrard-------------------
    -------Suarez-------------Borini-----------

most vital thing is the midfield three allow johnson and enrique to provide the width.

Nuri Sahin has revealed how he was present for one of the biggest nights of Liverpool Football Club's history in Istanbul.

Our new No.4, who signed a season-long loan deal with the Reds today, was at the Ataturk Stadium as Rafael Benitez's side came from three goals down to beat AC Milan on penalties in the 2005 Champions League final.
Sahin takes up the story: "I know a lot about Liverpool Football Club - I know it is a very big club with a huge history, with big players and big trophies. When they won the biggest trophy in 2005, I was in the stadium in Istanbul. It was my first taste of Liverpool.
"That year, I won the European U17 Championship with Turkey, so we were invited by the Turkish Football Federation to watch the game.
"We were sitting near to where the Liverpool fans were and it was just a crazy, crazy night. It was then I saw what football and Liverpool Football Club means to the people."

Considering Rodgers style and set up, I would like to see:

    -----------------------Reina
    -------------Skrtel-------------Agger
    Johnson---------------Lucas---------------Enrique
    -------------Allen--------------Sahin
    Gerrard---------------Borini---------------Suarez

  7. I think that says quite a lot to the people questioning Gerrard's contribution the the club nowadays. His name is still helping to attract top players to join <ok>

  8. To be fair, the front three (if that personnel) will interchange anyway so it doesn't really matter how they line-up <ok>

I believe this may give Gerrard the opportunity to play further forward like he did in 2008/2009. However we've got better supporting players. Downing who some don't rate can be used to just hug the touch-line and attack the full-back. The alternative is Assaidi who from what I've seen from the videos is a handful. He's strong, he's quick and he has a few tricks in his locker.

  10. Back in 2008-09, we signed Reira who, lets face it, was pretty poor too (like Downing) but he provided much needed width. If we drop Downing and play Suarez, Borini and Gerrard as the front three, we would really need at least two of Allen, Sahin or Lucas to sit deep to allow Enrique and Johnson to provide the width <ok>

However, people also need to remember it is a squad game and our midfield now looks very strong IMO <ok>

And this - from when he was at Dortmund - is who we are getting for a year. Energy, movement, trickery, passing and great vision. Watch this and envision gerrard, borini or suarez latching on the through balls, or Carroll meeting the crosses. Could be a fantastic addition.

    Enjoy. ;) <ok>

  13. I don't think he joined in time but nor do I think it will matter, he won't be in the squad regardless.

Am really looking forward to seeing him play. Also it pushes Adam,Henderson and spearing further down the pecking order. Just hope it doesn't take too long to gel. Hope to see sterling and Assaidi given game time too.
Still would like to see one more come in,just someone who would give us that bit of a spark up front. We create so much but are so wasteful

You need a new striker, Suarez is brilliant at creating opportunities, but his finishing is, umm, erratic at best. Borini still needs to settle in.

give big andy a run of games, I am positive he will do better through the middle than borini or suarez, suarez belongs wide right, just look how good he is for Uruguay and what he was like at Ajax. I am delighted with the sahin deal, class player

Does anyone else see what he could do for Sterling's development? It would be the perfect partnership in my opinion.

  20. Who goes on the left then? Borini still?

Which one is dropped for the middle out of Gerrard, Allen, Lucas and Sahin...?
