Deal virtually done according to various sources.

My thoughts on this are as they were when it was first mentioned. Canny deal but won't be too chuffed if he's our main man up top. As a second striker or back up he's a good acquisition.

I'm in the terrible position of slagging Saha with biting cruelty during his stay at Everton. Never let up. Yesterday during the Italy v Germany game I got a taste of my comeuppance. The Everton boys were all over me regarding the Saha rumors. It was not fun.

I never learn...just talk talk talk.

Clearly, I have mixed feelings about him. But, if he helps, who gives a ****.

Saha is a decent enough striker that will do well for us.

If he is partnered with Fletcher I would fancy him to get around 8goals but I would imagine and I hope he is a 2nd/3rd choice striker. Personally think he would be good on a two year deal.

Need to keep Sess and Sess playing as the second striker/free role

A squad player at best 34, slow and injury prone suppose he does have experience of being a top class striker though . . . . . . . . . or maybe not, so for me no point at all getting him. How much are Spurs giving us to take him off their hands by the way?

this, which is a shame as he's quality when fit, done very well for spurs during his brief spell there

  9. He done alright for Everton

He was also at Newcastle for a season back in 1999 so settling in might not be hard

If our dealings with Spurs over the last few seasons are anything to go by nothing is free from them.

    Answer this question.

Is Saha a better bet than Campbell, Whickham & Ji, at the minute at least.

    Simple.

Sess isnt and never will be a striker. If we persisit with one up front and Sess as the second striker I can see another fruitless season of mediocrity. What we need are TWO new proper strkers, with Campbell, Wickham, Ji and Saha (if he signs) as back up only.

Sess has to be used as the playmaker in midfield OR sold and the money used to strengthen the team. We have struggled to score goals with the system and personnel we have used for the last 12 months and even MoN cant make Sess a 20 goal striker.

    This.

I would rather have two strikers who can score 10-15+ goals then 1 player who makes the team unbalanced and doesn't score enough goals to be classed as a striker.

With regards to Saha, I would have him. He is tall & can score. The 3 strikers we have now arn't good enough...Championship quality at best.

Think the days of 442 are all but up think we'll be lining up similar to

    4-2-3-1

    ......................Mignolet...................
    Bardo.........oshea..brown......Rico(atm)
    ..................Catts...Colback................
    Larsson............Sess................McClean
    .........................Saha(if)...........................

agree with this, 4/4/2 is a thing of the past and when has MoN used a 4/4/2 he didn't at Villa and with counter attacking football at its best like Spurs and Real Madrid have shown its best played with the big man upfront and 2 or 3 players playing off them

think we will be going with something similar to that formation parkersafc but for it to be successful think we need 3 or 4 new players in that side to make it effective.

Agree, i think Fletcher would be perfect for the striker role. Id love us to sign a pacey right winger to alternate with Larsson and if Rico is off we need a proper left back Marcus Olsen fits the bill for me

agreed, wouldn't be surprised if we brought in a CM who is very comfortable on the ball as well, something which we seriously lack
