Completely pointless question, but do you think we could lose all the remaining games of the season and still stay up ?

31 points would probably be the lowest "safe" line in history but I am not sure any of the bottom 3 are going to get more than 11 more points this season. Hull, which is the strongest of the lot, have netted .83 points per game so far this season, which would put them on 31.5 points at the end of the year.

Truly mind boggling how weak the bottom half of the table currently is.

The bottom few are basically making us look good.
if a few more managerial changes happen though we may get dragged into the clart though (think how Palace are flying under Sir Alan).

No chance of us going down. To many poor teams in the league for that to happen.

But what a bore fest this season has become. The match against Stoke proved to me that we have nothing to play for, not points, position, pride ... nothing!

The atmosphere was dull, the energy levels where dull. The first half was awful!

The season has panned out like many of us thought it would with the slight omg moment of Pardew leaving. But then usual predictable crap ensued...(Carver)

The assumption from everyone in power is that people will keep turning up regardless. Personally I think 48,000 for a Sunday 2pm game is fairly poor as far as a NUFC attendance goes and I can only see that dropping further.

I'm not convinced we're totally safe, I'll be doing the clichéd thing of waiting til it's mathematically impossible, because there's movement below that is slightly worrying. Sherwood at QPR is one, Burnley look tidy enough, Leicester have beaten us already and of course Plastic Geordie Bruce's Hull are just one of those "ironic" hings waiting to relegate us.

That excellent run after that pathetic run more than saw you safe. Its meant you can keep the bottom 3 at arms length.

If all remaining games were lost you could be in trouble, but the amount of clubs in between is in itself a point. Crap teams pick up odd points towards the end of the season too.

Under Carver anything is possible. Best to pick up the required points sooner rather than latter. I don't want to be too close to this relegation cancer that is going around.

We will end up ok as there is alot of **** beneath thankfully.

I reckon we need 35 points. But yes 31 could be enough this year. The teams at the bottom are struggling to arrest the problems. You need a run of victories like Pardew has brought Palace or Sunderland got last year. None of this lot look capable but then neither did Palace or Sunderland.

We are in zero danger of going down now. We will pick up points because basically we do have technically better players than most of the bottom half of the league. It's Just that we are lacking in a couple of key areas (CF / CB) and we need a voice on the pitch who is able to give the rest a rocket from time to time and keep the team focused for 90 mins.

We're safe imo, we have a decent squad who can score goals, and have proven they are in fact capable of defending if we play a tiny bit more positively.
