Lets hope it makes an impact on those who are making the rules for the fans but as i suspect have never been to a football match in their lives ,i for one stand up in the Canton as we all do ,sit if you want ,stand if you want ,we pay the entry so should be our choice....

That's just the problem see Aber. There are people like you, and then there are people like those in the family stand.

If you don't want them to knock you and your requirements at a football game, don't knock them. <ok>

To be honest, I've never sat at the CCS anywhere other than in the grandstand, so I don't feel qualified to comment. However, before I bought my grandstand ST's for the last 8 years or so at NP, I did my share standing home and away and see no problem with an organised return to that option for those fans who still yearn for the more "traditional" football experience.

We need to get back to offering options to those who no longer feel part of the apparent current trend toward "family and corporate" experiences on a Saturday afternoon.

Bringing back the standing option is a no brainer - it should be pushed hard. Those like me who now prefer a decent seat as an option shouldn't feel in the least bit intimidated by the issue.

Not from my experience Aber, I've never booed any Cardiff Player or manager in my life - but then again you might know better.

Those who sit in the grandstand are no less Cardiff City fans than anywhere else in the ground. The fact that it's less vocal than the Ninian and Canton can't be denied - that's just the way it is.

Those in the family end have different priorities than you and there's a place for everyone.

My post says just that and was not a criticism at all of those who want to shout and scream all through a game. All types of fans should be accomodated but not necessarily at the expense of others.

like i said before thank fk for the return of the terraces cos the seats aint MY cup of tea.....:emoticon-0109-kiss:

It should be easily resolved if and when legislation allows. Make the Canton End a wholly standing option and give the same consideration to the first block nearest the away fans in the Ninian. Then everyone knows what they can or cannot do.

I believe all seating will change to red in the summer so what not bring in the flexible option at the same time?

last week at the boro game, old vincent tan was watching the whole game in his nice red cardiff top, and he stood the whole way through the game. so next time a steward tells you to sit down point out that fact

Couldn't get on to reply last night Aber - kept getting "Database error", so I gave up. <doh>

Don't want to argue the toss about standing only areas Aber - I've made it clear in my earlier posts that I'm all in favour of it. There's an urgent need to bring it back without delay to provide the traditional football experience for those that feel alienated by the rapid movement down "family and corporate" road.

However, supporters vary in their needs when coming to support their team at a decent stadium like the CCS. The difference seems to be that I can appreciate the need for the "football experience" aspects af stadium management without having to criticise them and the people that use them.

Aber mate - you once said on here that you and I go to a football match for different reasons. Apart from both going to support the boys and the team we've followed all our lives, I think you're right.

BTW, my hearing is just fine thank you. :emoticon-0105-wink:

    So dudes ... ;)

I'm in favour of changing Canton to semi terraced as long as its done nicely.
I've been both seated and standing at games but prefer seats as I have knackered knees .
    I'm 21 for christs sake!!

Have enjoyed some fun moments on the terraces in Niniam and more recently Edgar Street and think it would bring back some good atmosphere to the stadium.

Rubber, understand that like Sparky- not all of us want to go apesh*t for 90 minutes, yet I have never and will never do anything but make wholly positive noises about the team we all love.

    Come on you Purpley-Dragbirds!!!!

The only part of Ninian Park I didn't watch a game from was the Grandstand. Being working class it always seemed a posh place to be. STOOD in the grange (when it had a roof) and mostly on the Bob Bank, but sat on a railway sleeper in the Canton Stand as a treat when there was a cup game.

Even though I've been upwardly mobile, I now consider myself upper working class, I still would see the grandstand as betraying my roots. What O old bean.

So being of a certain age then remote, instead of betraying your roots, I suppose you just dye them?
