Seeing the posts about being on the red button and with the u21 game being on you tube last week got me thinking. Would a dedicated club channel on permanently gain enough interest to be viable? U21, u18, ladies games with commentary, Away games even potentially homes games (although the 3pk Saturday black-out would affect that) but I don't think it would really hurt home attendances as its in no way shape or form the same as being there live. Then pad it out with old games, longer club content, we have a huge number of exiles in our fan base, just wonder if it would be viable
I don't recall it and there's probably a load of daft league rules about showing games that would stop it. Just thinking it would be good for supporters and exposure for the club
I might be wrong, just sticks in my memory was early SOL days, cant remember how accessed, presume internet but sure was pre smart tv's....so now might be the time Better for me that facebook links etc as i dont do social media....not sure forums are classed as social media
I think it will all eventually split into individual clubs offering their games separately - the big clubs abroad are already desperate to do this, so it'll be coming here sooner or later. We need to be prepared to take advantage of it when it comes.
I think it's a good idea however I feel like league and FA rules wouldn't allow many games to be shown. We aren't even allowed to stream every u21 game because of premier league rules and I have no idea on the streaming rules in the womens leagues
Liverpool and Man Utd’s TV channel show some of their youth games and pre-season friendlies. These channels will never show any first team football because the rights to show that are sold to the major TV companies. Not sure about the women’s football but I imagine they’ve been bought up, as well.
Nice idea, Chunks, but the 'big boys' seem to have this 'all sewn up' and they wouldn't allow what they pay for the rights for to be shown (live) by other means
