Wouldn't be surprised if he is back for pre-season.... SUNDERLAND insist the long-running Asamoah Gyan saga is no closer to a resolution â despite fresh claims from the United Arab Emirates that a deal to take him to Al-Ain is almost complete. The Black Cats were mystified by the latest quotes to emerge from Gyanâs current club which asserted that a deal is nearly done when there have been no fresh negotiations on their record signing. Al-Ain boss Cosmin Olaroiu was quoted as saying: âFrom what I know, Asamoah will continue with Al Ain next season.â But that is not the understanding on Wearside, where they are not intending to allow the forward go for anything less than their eight figure valuation. Indeed Sunderland would prefer other clubs to enter the race for the Ghana striker, who could yet return to Wearside at the start of pre-season if Al-Ain donât make up at least the £13.1million that the Black Cats paid for forward. As Gyanâs status remains in limbo, the club confirmed the most lucrative kit deal in its history yesterday after tying up a deal for global sportswear giant Adidas to provide training and match kits.
As long as we get £10mil + for him, i am happy, means we will of made a £3mil profit and the academy has been improved due to getting a percentage of his wages
This could drag on and on, as the Arabic transfer window closes a month after ours does, so they can keep it dangling, to get the best deal. Then again another club might come in for him, and start a price war. But would prefer sooner rather than later. The MoN will have a bit more dosh.
We haven't paid anywhere near £13.1 as performance & goals figures were not met. Hence, we can assume this article is probably all bollocks.
