Its surprising how little the kits have changed over the years, apart from the thin red stripe year. www.historicalkits.co.uk/Sunderland/Sunderland.htm and I like these sites www.pubquizhelp.com/sport/names.html
I would love that all blue first ever one. An original I mean. Imagine how much one of those would be worth?
Don't you just love thier away kit for a game against Bolton in 1951 http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Newcastle_United/Newcastle_United-change-kits.html
For a few years in the 1960s, Alan Brown had us playing with white shorts (like Stoke City). Nobody knew why. The first month Stokoe was here, he changed it back to our proper colours. I'd respect Bob for that even if he hadn't won the cup. The nicest strip I've ever seen was Partick Thistle. They used to play in three hoops - the top and bottom one was burgundy with the middle hoop in old gold. God, that looked smart.
